Why, because you don't smoke? I've installed mine to help prevent things getting out of control. There are a fairly large number of electrical or electro-mechanical devices in this room, better to nip a small fire in the bud in the first 30 seconds, than be panicking 10 minutes later when the fire brigade still hasn't arrived and the whole room is going up...

That one cost me $AUD30 but that was in a pretty box with a wall mount. Just the extinguisher was $AUD20.

I got one right outside my apt. I noticed some guy comes around once a year or so and replaces it, do these things need to be refilled or recharged or something periodically?
