Domain auction at Sedo.com just ended a few minutes ago and the top selling names were Music.mobi $616,000 & Games.mobi $401,500

When I have bought domains on Sedo before I pay Sedo and Sedo pays the domain owner so I am not sure how they would do that without Sedo being complicit to the fraud.

exactly, while i don't see much for a market in .mobi names on the mass. these two have EXTREME potential for the mobile market. for the right enduser the potential is far beyond what seem to be pretty large pricetags. in the future someone will be banking hard on those domains...

there is debate whether they are going to be much of a standard or not, most are happy with .com, and another problem is that domain speculators are sitting on many of those .mobi domains so the prices are high on names that are not even being developed into sites

With newer phones/mobile browsers being able to handle any website a regular pc can, I don't seen how .mobi domain can be worth that much...

i dont get it either

take iPhone for example. it's got a fully functional internet browser.

why would i surf some lame ass .mobi domains (that arent even developed) if there are perfectly good .com sites
