Anyone use Skype?

I was thinking about installing it. What are some good headsets? or is speakerphone better?

Barefootsies 12-05-2007 09:15 AM

Yes.

Wish more did.

:2 cents:

martinsc 12-05-2007 09:15 AM

i use it with headsets (very simple ones for about 5 bucks) and I love skype

Bdiddy 12-05-2007 09:27 AM

Wish everyone used it...you will like it!

CS-Jay 12-05-2007 09:37 AM

5 bucks huh? Shit that's not bad. Is there any limit on the amount of time you can spend on it?

Elixir 12-05-2007 09:45 AM

No I dont use Skype !

Kevin Marx 12-05-2007 09:48 AM

Yep, I use it.... been a great way to communicate. Very happy with it.

Mike Dutch 12-05-2007 09:50 AM

I just love it

tomud 12-05-2007 09:56 AM

Farang 12-05-2007 09:57 AM

I like skype, but keep all my business contacts in icq

sue 12-05-2007 10:08 AM

I use it and I love it.

Only thing is I bought this wifi skype phone, smc. And I HATE that phone. It is the most stupid thing I have ever bought. I have tried everything, upgrading the software bla bla bla. No wonder skype has lowered the price on that phone to about half what it was when I bought it........

Anyone have any ideas?????

*hugs and kisses*

V_RocKs 12-05-2007 10:11 AM

I hate the phone....

ICQ keeps my conversations in a history.

KILL_FRENZY 12-05-2007 10:15 AM

yes I use it and I love it

Evil E 12-05-2007 10:19 AM

I use Skype for outdial calls(paid 30$/year for unlimited call in US and Canada).

I had an headset and it kinda pissed me off so I got an adaptor to use my regular PTSN phone.

http://www.dlink.ca/products/?pid=466

Might also get a DID or 2 with my PAP2+maybe asterisk and reroute it to that box so it makes transparent out calls and also receive in calls from the DIDs.

sue 12-05-2007 10:24 AM

I used the dlink adapter before and it worked great. It broke down and I decided to buy a wifi phone instead. Bad choice.

*hugs and kisses*

sue 12-05-2007 10:25 AM

Is there anyone using a wifi skype phone that you can recommend?

*hugs and kisses*

Skype keeps chat history as well and is a much better interface. :2 cents:

Neal 12-05-2007 10:35 AM

Yes really good system. i use a microphone and the speakers, works really well and saves me a fortune in regular calls..

nAtuRaLbEautY 12-05-2007 10:36 AM

CyberHustler 12-05-2007 10:46 AM

I use it and wish it would replace ICQ as the "standard"

'So Fucking Money 12-05-2007 11:44 AM

Yeah, it's nice using the chat. It's encrypted and all. Ive also got a tele# on there so people can call that or my other lines :thumbsup

Agreed. It's way better than ICQ ... Hell, paper cups and string is better than ICQ. Lazy ass webmasters though just don't want to be the first to make the jump. Bah sheep!

AGS-17 12-05-2007 12:28 PM

I use Skype - it is good system

Rochard 12-05-2007 12:55 PM

I use it daily to talk with my partner Avalanche... Cuts down on the phone bill being as we talk to each other constantly.

CarlosTheGaucho 12-05-2007 12:58 PM

good stuff, just today fucked up my headset as I teared the wires, I still can't get used to have something on my head - it's just a weird feeling like if I were in a call centre or something.

Thinking about getting that skype phone that you can plug in via USB - way more natural feeling.

justsexxx 12-05-2007 01:06 PM

I like my sennheiser headset

CynthiaB 12-05-2007 01:48 PM

Skype is terrific. I talk to my friends in Australia every night for free. It has a chat component and Skype in and recordability - so many great features.

GT-Omar 12-05-2007 01:53 PM

Yes I use it quite a bit, and I have to say I really like it

DivaShane 12-05-2007 03:08 PM

I love my skype. I've also installed SAM for recording capabilities. I use a logitech headset with a mic and haven't had any real problems to speak of. I wish more of my contacts used skype...

DutchTeenCash 12-05-2007 03:17 PM

sure works like a charm - got it on my laptop when I travel too login to a LAN and call no more $5/min calls

spacedog 12-05-2007 03:20 PM

Skype is great.

Haven't used in ages since I have 2 cell phones, icq, etc, but whenever I need to make a lengthy long distance call I'll use skype.

I use it on speakerphone when I want to yap while working online

nikki99 12-05-2007 04:19 PM

I have a friend who does and it works very good, international calls very cheap

VicD 12-05-2007 04:22 PM

i use it and i love it, built in speaker is ok

rowan 12-05-2007 04:30 PM

I saw announcement the other day of a mobile (cell) phone that also supports Skype, which is pretty unusual... telcos are supposed to hate VOIP!

madfuck 12-05-2007 04:45 PM

No, I dont use Skype !

CS-Jay 12-05-2007 04:45 PM

cool thing is, I can get one of those small mics and use the speakers in my laptop for a speaker phone type deal. Sucks I don't have a mic built into the laptop though....

YEPmob 12-05-2007 05:07 PM

Skype = :thumbsup

I mostly use it for chat but if you're going to talk, make sure you get a comfortable pair of headsets.

I used to run Skype off of my O2 smartphone (3g network). Worked like a charm :thumbsup

sam from montreal 12-05-2007 05:43 PM

yes I do, skype is cool for free long distance calls

CarlosTheGaucho 12-05-2007 05:52 PM

The only thing is that I registered a number with skype - a cute US based number and thought I will be able to call phones for local fees.

I am but it doesn't display the callers ID so that sucks ass a bit, just watch out in case you want to do that, you can register your personal number of your choice so people call you on your skype from outside, but check the T & C's first cause only a couple of countries they offer allows the callers ID displayed.

aico 12-05-2007 05:56 PM

This one is better & cheaper

Skype KICKS ASS

TheLegacy 12-05-2007 06:44 PM

I have found alot of foreign webmasters use skype and I have found mine growing monthly. Get a good headset with mouth speaker (my wife has that) - its not perfect but certainly makes life alot easier when you need to type away or write things down.

I insist now that people in the company all get skype

Star 69 12-06-2007 02:48 AM

I am a skype user for 3 more years
Check logitech for headsets or bluetooth Plantronics headsets

EuroRev_Stacey 12-06-2007 03:04 AM

Skype does a great performance on chat & video call.
Two thumbs up for Skype! :thumbsup

Zester 12-06-2007 04:14 AM

I use skype instead of my phone at home.
i don't see a reason NOT to use skype for talking and ICQ for instant messaging

Wizzo 12-06-2007 06:48 AM

I use it all the time with Mayor and few of the guys living in Thailand it saves a ton on phone bills and it works great! :pimp

Emil 12-06-2007 07:01 AM

I use it, but only to send sms.

ajrocks 12-06-2007 07:11 AM

Works great and its secure! Can't go wrong.

dugdugster 12-06-2007 07:24 AM
