So I'm having this party, right? And people are registering for the guest list and all that good stuff. I'm answering everyone's questions and keeping things straight. And two adult industry people added my email address to their spam list, so now I'm getting their newsletters/announcements. That is so fucked up I can't take it. I know who I won't ever do business with.

I won't post who they are here, it's no one from this board but I will be giving them both a piece of my mind.

i agree. I'm at a point with some spam that I IMG SRC some of them and shut down their servers if they don't take my name off their list or just add it to another list selling something else. I had one spammer's lawyer phone me, all i said is what's you clients name. He had lots of hollow threats but he gave me a corporate name only, and I told him to go ahead and sue me. I told him then I'd be able to get his client's real name I"ll post it on EVERY anti spam board out there. They backed down and took my name off their spam lists.


the thing a SPAMMER FEARS most is having the anti-spam organizations KNOW who they are.

You know I can deal with the regular variety of spam, that's just life. It's just that in this case I know these two people added me to their list because of the party emails. Here I am adding them to the guest list and they are fucking me with spam. Real nice.

Hey I agree with Sleazy.... If the fucke face spammer won't stop, and you have the power and traffic to img src them, then Fuck it and get even. Sometimes you need to fight fire with fire, an eye for an eye. Having the traffic power to img src a scumbag is a good feeling, and sometimes it's the only way to win.:thumbsup

While you are at it...Remove them from your guest list. :)

Take them off the guest list... And don't tell them till they show up at the door. Then have some nice large gentleman hand them a printout of their spam and ask them to leave. Unless the offer up $10 per word in the spam...

Did the spam email even have an option to unsubscribe? I hate it when they don't.. but it seems like when you hit it, they unsubscribe you AND sell your email to 20,000 other spammers.

unsubscribe = confirm that the address is still valid.

When filling out forms, you can give out an e-mail address based on them+your domain name. For example, I could fill out a form here at GFY, and if I were afraid GFY might spam me, I could give the address [email protected], and if they are not really looking closely at the addresses they are harvesting, at least I'd know who sent it.

On the other hand, I just wish people could devote as much energy to addressing poverty or child abuse as they do to whining about spam.
