I just upgraded a cool tool i built for browsing gfy that will make gfy run faster.

You must have google toolbar installed in your browser to use this feature
( if you don't have the google toolbar yet click here to install it )

what this tool does is adds a small button/menu to your google toolbar ,

clicking this button will display the latest 25 threads on gfy, you can then click the menu/thread to open it.
( refreshed every 2 minutes )

using this service can really improve gfy's speed by lowering the amount of requests on the server.

firefox users can enjoy an additional feature not available to ie users that will also help improve the speed of gfy.

Firefox users can highlight text on a page and click the smokey head on the google toolbar and it will search the site your currently on for the keywords you have selected using google.

example:

if you highlight the words "anal" while on gfy and then click the smokey head it will search

anal+site:www.gofuckyourself.com on google

or you may type your keywords in the google box and click the smokey head and it will produce the same results.

this will help speed up gfy by not using gfy's search feature and instead using google.

p.s. this tool rely's on gfy allowing it to continue , i am more than willing to give entire source code to gfy to run off your own server if you wish for security concerns etc entirely free, even walk you thru it..

not only will this speed up gfy but there are also alternative advertising ops to be had.


p.s.s. some people asked about having threads removed from people you ignore , i will be working on that and a few other features

p.s.s.s. if you have the old version of this i made a few days ago remove it and install this one instead. its faster for gfy

i dont see why he wouldn't , it doesnt take any advertising away from gfy.

Oh OK I it looked like his advertising was compromised. A faster gfy would be good then...:thumbsup

basically it just caches the main forums threads every 2 minutes and rediplays it

so if 200 people use it or 20000 people use it , gfy gets hit the same amount of times.

720 hits per day

lets say 1000 people refresh gfy 10 times per day

thats 10,000 hits per day on gfy servers.

this eliminates over 9000 hits to gfy servers besides all the little icons and such that are loaded when the main forum is refreshed

if gfy runs it they could add certain sponsors in the list and such just like the banners on the main forum .

the feed is an atom feed also so cell phone users could surf gfy too

I noticed a substantial improvement in response time after the GFY upgrade but coincidentally since you announced this tool it's gone back to waiting several seconds before anything happens. :Graucho

not sure if I'm reading this correctly, but wouldn't that affect impressions for cpm rate advertising?
