Google Images Traffic...

Is google images traffic any good? Or is it pure crap traffic?

I have read a lot of opinions about it, some say it is pure crap and worse than tgp traffic.. others say that it's almost as good as google traffic.

Any opinions?

silver 12-03-2007 08:33 AM

It does ok for one of my classic sites.
Better then TGP traffic.

As for mainstream stuff..lots of looky loo's just like TGP's.

Fool with it and find something that works and keep it to yourself.

jasonir 12-03-2007 08:34 AM

I get tons of yahoo image traffic and it's fucking worthless. Doesn't convert with a shit and you're jailed in their frame. Maybe google is better.

Gasper 12-03-2007 08:37 AM

the worst traffic and I get tons of it :disgust

Bust the frame. Put this on the page with the image on it.

<script language="JavaScript">
if (window != top) top.location.href = location.href;
</script>

StarkReality 12-03-2007 09:23 AM

It's certainly harder to convert than "normal" search engine traffic, but if you know how to handle it, it's way better than any TGP traffic, as silver already said.

Antonio 12-03-2007 09:26 AM

most of it is crap I think but some smaller/weirder niches do well

Lamis 12-03-2007 10:06 AM

hmmm... I can't understand why some people say that it's the worst crap in planet..

and others are saying that it's better than TGP traffic..

Can you explain in detail why you are saying that it's pure crap OR why are you saying that it's better than TGP?

Will not something like that get you penalized in Images Search Engines?

What do you mean with "How to handle it?"

Dirty F 12-03-2007 10:09 AM

Anybody who doesnt want this crap traffic feel free to send it to me.

rvincent 12-03-2007 10:14 AM

Google Image traffic is just like any kind of traffic. Find how to convert it and you'll do great.
I'm making over $1k/month thanks to google image traffic.
Not enough to become millionaire indeed, but it's not what I'd call "worthless traffic" either...

who 12-03-2007 10:15 AM

I get most traffic from google images on one of my sites, and the conversions are low. It is very valuable traffic though.

Elixir 12-03-2007 10:27 AM

Ok for instance...

If have a bunch of classic images for lets say an 1980's dead porn star.
I would name the images their name and put the image on a page with
links to classic porn sites he or she is on - or have some pop ups ect to classic sites on that page also.Done something similar like that in the past and did ok. Tried the same porn star with a gallery and got listed on a couple of decent TGP's that would take classic stuff and when it was all said and done I made more off google image traffic with a quarter of the traffic that i got from TPG's.(within a reasonable amount of time and still get sales)

If you play with it more you will understand what i'am saying.
It is kinda like a guessing game, to name your images to try an target
a potential sale.

I think the guys who are saying it sucks are prolly doing mainstream and celebrity stuff with it....i dont know- but i could see how it could suck and waste bandwith.

Hell House Vic 12-03-2007 11:20 AM

considering that it's basically free traffic that you don't really need to do more than just CREATE - it's good stuff. provided of course that your search traffic is relevant to the product / sponser you intended to sell

IllTestYourGirls 12-03-2007 11:22 AM

I put ppc and pps on sites that get a lot of google image traffic. I would say it does convert a little better than tpg traffic.

cezam 12-03-2007 11:34 AM

converts good for me.

yumma 12-03-2007 11:34 AM

some nice solutions here!

polle54 12-03-2007 12:02 PM

$5-7 CPM

but you gotta figure out for yourself how to convert, I am not giving away tips on this one.

papill0n 12-03-2007 12:53 PM

Like any sort of traffic if you know how to sell your product it will do well.

fuzebox 12-03-2007 01:02 PM

The fact that it is free increases the value a bit :winkwink:

I redirect mine to a jump page that sorts by niche and feeds my other sites, and it is productive this way.

nope, just good sales text!

BTW, next time you hear someone complain about how google images converts like shit, ask him how better or worse it is compared to TGP traffic :-)

Most guys complain without actually having computed how it converts, and those who really made the computation know it's a bit better than TGP traffic, except it lasts MUCH longer...

tranza 12-03-2007 01:34 PM

All traffic is good traffic.

:2 cents:

V_RocKs 12-03-2007 02:18 PM

I make a few grand a month or so on it... I would suggest breaking the frames.
