    buying traffic?

I have a mainstream blog and am thinking about buying some traffic for it to get it going. I found this site http://www.immensehits.com/tos.htm that offer packages as low as $7.95 for 10,000 hits. Has anyone used them? Has anyone used other services? Thanks!

I know I know, that's why I'm asking on here.... they seem to be all over, I would think someone had try them by now. They even have 1,000,000 hits for 300 bucks hah. I almost want to just do the 8 bucks one and test it.

Dude, a hit don't mean a goddamn thing. Pin them down on unique visitors.

Do you understand the difference? A hit is everyfuckinggoddamnthing on a Web page: If your logo is sliced up into a thousand GIFs, every GIF is a hit when that page loads. If there are a hundred thumbnails on the same page, every thumbnail is a hit with the page loads.

A single vistor can genarate thousands of hits just fucking around. You want unique visitors to your site, not hits.

So I dunno. The company might be great. But myself, I would want to know how many unique visitors I'm getting for my money.

Funny you mention it, they make absolutely no mention of unique hits. I did, however, find this website that is just a little bit more expensive but guarantee unique visitors.... http://www.targetwebvisitors.com/

            any thoughts?

Good. I'm glad I said something that made sense. "Pass me a bottle, Mr. Jones."

Yeah, a site that promises unique visitors is probably a safer bet. At least you have something tangible to pin them down on.

But I would ask around just to make sure. Myself, I don't buy traffic. The only thing I ever did was pay dwhs.net six hundred buck to optimize my site for search engines. I figured out what they did, why they did it, and have relied on making my site a magnet for visitors since then.

                Good luck.

Stay away. I have pissed away alot of money on places like this on the adult side and I can confidently say that none of these places are worth a dime.

Unfortunately MinusOneBit is doing his best to keep anyone who knows traffic occupied with more of the usual drama in another thread.

Please hold the line, someone may be with you shortly. . . and maybe not.

I can certainly understand wanting to reference check people before spending money.....but c'mon, it's $8. Just test it out and draw your own conclusions for crying out loud.

I understand your point....if we were talking about server logs that would make sense.

But there's no possible way for someone else sending you traffic to know how many "hits" your logs would register for every visitor they sent you....so what they're calling hits is most likely visitors.
Uniques can be defined in different ways so I'm not gonna go there.

Yes, and the sort of traffic makes a difference too. Once you get past hits versus unique, you have to consider the source type as well. 1000 unique visitors that clicked on what they thought was a tranny link, that end up on your page, will probably be a waste of money.

That's hilarious. So go to PayPal and transfer 10 bucks to the original poster. Let him use your money to give it a try. How does it feel then? It's not the money that matters, it's the tingling sensation after something doesn't pan out that's the problem.

exactly! If I were to dish out cash for every little single thing I see online "just to try it out" i'd be broke!
