So I am getting a 10 grand settlement
 

I bought this Stove awhile back. Apparently it had some faulty dangerous construction that could cause it to blow up in flames or something.. so some attorneys started a class action lawsuit against the maker on behalf of all who bought it and they settled for like 10 million.. which equals about 10 grand for each person who bought it. :thumbsup

You are getting back the purchase price plus how much for a product that worked fine for you. Granted it's free money, take it. But fuck the sleezy lawyers that started a class action lawsuit.

I take it you don't understand how class-action lawsuits work.

If he refused his 10k, it only would have meant that everyone else that owned the stoves and was a part of the settlement would have got an extra 10-15 bucks, and he woulda been out the 10k. That's it. That'd be the impact of his noble gesture.

Anyone who actually got _hurt_ would likely have their own settlements, apart from this class action dealio, to mitigate their pain and suffering.

didnt you have to join the class action lawsuit FIRST? They dont just send out checks to people that didnt join it. What if you didnt want to sue the company cause your mammma worked there. OR better yet, YOU WORK THERE.
