movable type is ok. There is a ton of other blog packages out there, but so many of them can be exploited. You'll want to constantly make sure you're up to date.

Scroto 11-30-2007 04:18 PM

was just checking that out :thumbsup

Hard to beat Wordpress as far as the number of available plugins. Have you tried the cache module?

You can also run blogs on Drupal but it's also quite a hog.

Blogs Organizer isn't a resource hog...

Besides that I'd recommend expression engine and textpattern (free).

pornask 11-30-2007 11:29 PM

a friend of mine runs busy celebrity gossip blog and she had lots of problems with WP. She switched to drupal and seems to be very happy. I was looking to build a network of about 20 WP blogs myself but seeing how people have troubles and then super high demand on system resources and all that shit... I'm reconsidering my original plans :(

Yes, you could always go fuck yourself.

twan 12-01-2007 04:47 AM

You can tune and optimize wordpress in many ways, maybe you should try that first before moving to another software package.

Yep and I've seen a lot people say that when a site posted there goes down. Little do they know it's not wordpress. It's the fact that the submitter/site owner thought his site could be on the digg front page when he only pays 5 bucks a month for unlimited hosting.
