Long story short:

Katrina in New Orleans. I'll answer questions about it, but I'm not going to just start writing about the whole experience on GFY.. that would take too long.

I survived two marriages.

why did you stay in a city that was built under sea level when you knew an insane storm was going to come?

JamesK 11-29-2007 06:24 PM

most of it is scary shit. Actually you really want to get scared the government only spends about 8 million a year tracking asteroids. You say so what? Well considering the last ice age was started by a asteroid about the size of a vw bug, its pretty fucking scary.

ummm, why are they wasting the $8 million? You really think they can do anything about an asteroid?

For the glory! THIS IS SPARTA!!!!

Hey all, Buff checking in. How's everyone been? And who are you, Fire? Were you in the Intercosmos crew with us?

Damian_Maxcash 11-29-2007 07:17 PM

After 10 years in NZ you pretty much know the drill......

I dont think there is much that dosnt happen there.

The worst I had though was 7.1 quake.... It was off the coast so to be honest it was actually more fun/interesting than anything else.

Because of my "job". Emergency personnel were required to stay.

Just a lowly webmaster. Was never with Intercosmos but I do have some domains registered through them.

Haha, me too!

I do keep a "grab bag" around in case of natural disaster. When I lived in Alaska it was standard to have a survival bag in your home and your car, just a practice I've kept up. Thankfully, never needed it. One of those things better to have and not need I would say.
