Never sell anything to this overgrown clown. The guy owes me a ton of money, and I've consistantly had to chase him down for it. He bought some sites off of me ages ago, agreed to pay me $5,000.00 a month, and instead blows his money on everything except paying people what he owes them. Yes, he has done this to others, too.

The guy tells me at the beginning of November, "Hey, I won't be around until the end of the month. I'll get you your money then." Well, yesterday comes (the 28th) and I find out he finally wired me money. But, not the $5,000.00 we'd agreed on... only $2,000.00! At this point I'm pretty pissed, so I contact him to ask where my missing $3,000.00 is. He tells me, "Oh, I IM'ed you a few days ago to tell you I'd only send $2,000.00. Did you not get it?" Bullshit! I never got any message about that, and furthermore, you shouldn't assume somebody got an IM regarding important financial information. He could have PM'ed me through his message board, or even called me.

So, I'm pretty pissed off, tell him that $2,000.00 is not what we'd agreed on, and point the domains of the sites I've sold him elsewhere. At this point he knows I mean business so he tells me he sent out another $2,000.00. I wake up today, check my account... nothing. Completely screwed.

This is not the first time this guy has pulled this shit. Since I've made this crappy business deal with him, I've had other webmasters tell me similar stories. Now, thanks to this asshole, all my bills are late this month, I wasn't able to pay my mortgage and car payment, and the bank is probably going to start foreclosure on my house. He's been consistantly late paying me (I've had a late fee tacked to my mortgage every month for the last six months) and this month didn't even pay me even half of the agreed amount. He told me he had a "busy month," yet I've seen him posting on message boards how he's been sitting around playing video games. Real busy.


Ignore my IM's. Delete my threads. Nice try, Spunky. I want the money you owe me, and if you don't pay-up, you're not only fucking over me, but fucking over the model whose site I sold you since you forced me to shut down the domain. I'm sure she'll be happy to know you fucked me over once again and in the process, burned her as well.

Not fun having your mortgage company call you every single day wondering where their money is. Not fun knowing your car will be repossessed soon. All because the guy who's suppose to run a "tight ship" and "big program" is treating you with complete disrespect and not paying you what he agreed to pay you.

I feel sorry for the other webmasters he's screwed. I know how they feel, trust me. I'm beyond pissed.

I've always wondered what was going around with you two guy juggling solo girl sites around. It's annoying as hell to constantly change link codes for the programs you guys go back and forth on.

Was this agreement in writing? If so, was it created by an attorney? If not, you just took a lesson in Business 101.

I think he may have snubbed me once.

He had the nerve to PM me and threaten me after I posted a little comment about the money he owes on his board. What a guy. He ignored the IM's I sent him, but was obviously online since he removed my thread and also PM'ed me.

Since posting this I've already received a few IM's from other people he's burned. People need to speak up, not sit back and be scared of this guy.

I'd have to say the one good thing about SpunkyCash is Erik, who's been extremely nice to me during all of this and is currently working behind the scenes to resolve things. Even sent me some money from his own account to help ease tension.

I will weigh in on this matter soon - I should have done it on behalf of a friend who has gone through the same thing for a year and a half with this deadbeat but I didn't want to get involved at the time - shame on me.

Never had a problem getting paid for anything.

I have been paid by Spunky for items ranging from $25 to $6,000.

If it's small payments, you're usually okay. But, if he owes you a decent sum of money... you're going to be waiting ages to get it. If he tells you he'll pay you in installments then you're really fucked.

A few of the things I have learned over time:

1. NEVER put yourself in a position where you wont be able to meet your obligations if X, Y and Z don't pay on time. Always assume that no one will pay on time and then allow yourself to be pleasantly surprised when they do.

2. NEVER extend credit to people who you do not implicitly trust. For those you do extend credit to, always have written agreement signed by the parties and have it notarized. Banks exist to loan money, you should exist to sell stuff, not compete with the banks.

3. NEVER allow payments to get more than one cycle behind. If they do, the deal is off and the deal goes directly to the lawyers for litigation. Even if the guy *IS* in the hospital or his (insert some family connection here) died.

4. ALWAYS have a provision in your agreement that allows you to automatically withdraw payment(s) due you via ACH from the person's bank account if they are not made voluntarily on time. Using a service like paybycheck.com, this is easy to do and its perfectly legal because it is authorized by the account holder when they signup.

5. For large deals, require all checks to be sent by FedEx or equivalent. That puts a stop the 'ole "Checks in the mail" bullshit real fast.

Not that any of this advice will help you now, sounds like you are too late for this one.

Sounds like you have financial issues to begin with... esp if you're foreclosing over $5k missing per month.

Uh, know what you're talking about before you chime in. My network has always been solid, but I sold Spunky my highest-grossing site for a good sum of money. I've since invested in a few models and those sites will do great. Takes money make money. It's not like I was going to use the money Spunky was sending me to buy stupid crap. I invested it all in some great sites that should be online within the next month.

I think Spunky just got in over his head. He got so caught up with buying every site he could that he wound up owing too many people money.

jesus - how does ANT's financial situation in any way make not paying debts any less reprehensible? is there some law out there that excuses debtors their debts based on the character of their creditors?

But... problem resolved for now anyway, thanks to Erik, who's a great guy and the single best part of SpunkyCash. I still can't believe he paid me money from his own account to help fix this. What a guy!
