Business threads only for now on [business minded folks inside please!]
 

I'm making a pledge from here on out to only post business related threads on GFY.

To not be sucked into any more drama & bullshit.

I will not even reply to threads involving religion, politics, or someone else's personal life.

I also promise to make 2-3 threads a month containing information that will help new webmasters. I.E. tips & information people can use to help increase their search engine rankings/generate traffic. (Beginning this weekend)

20,000 posts playing into the hands of idiots was fun, but I've got no more time for it.

I call upon my other GFY brothers'n'sisters to make this pledge along with me, & return this place to its useful 2001-2002 state.

Anyways enough said....actions speak louder than words & i will be following this little "credo" for now on.

Dood, I remember GFY back in 2002, and it was much like it is today. Despite the ruckus, I think it's useful just the way it is because if you really need to talk business, you're going to do it with the people you meet and get to know online... and where better to start doing that than here?

Perhaps.. but the business is getting more crowded and people are playing their cards even closer to their chest. And there is an ever growing divide between the various classes of webmaster.

But I bet people could post a LOT more about business if they wanted to.

At the very least we could be more business minded here. I'm sure there will always be drama and spam threads because the masses love them. But I think that we can all only benefit from meaningful discussions relating to both our industry and business in general.
