Here's how it works:

Let them post your stuff for a bit and once you notice the bandwidth going up, redirect everything except comming from your domain(wouldn't want to redirect your own traffic now woudl you? :p ) to any site you like (A good thing would be a pop up hell)

That would give you 2 to 5k in uniques for a day or two to jumpstart whatever it is you wanna boost.

you mean you've never pushed hotlink traffic elsewhere to your benefit using mod rewrite?

Sure everyone does that. But it's abit more complex when it comes to movies. Simple htaccess manipulation dont cut it.

I asumed he did. mode rewrite is used in htaccess to redirect. Do movie players I.E win mediaplayer read cookies ? mmm cookies

uhh actually mod_rewrite can take the movie url the user went to and send that user to any page they want, seeing as the user is generally in ie/netscape when they click the link and not their media player. and even if they are in their media player you could easily change the mime type on them in .htaccess even =)

The cookies solution works fine..... bad thing is most sites won't list your gallery since with IE6 having cookies disabled as a default there is like 10% of the freeloaders that can't download the movies.
The only thing you can get done with htaccess is protect a movie from streaming when requested outside your domain...... we redirect them when they left click one of our movies from another domain. Right click there's nothing you can do yet.

Actually, yes there is somethign you can do about the right click on a movie (making the movie load in the player and/or webpage).

Usually when the player launches (even from within a webpage) it tends to break the referring URL.

and with taccess only the left click works, rights clicks go to my sponsors,

and 404 pull the rest

the key is to do what I do

rotate your movies on a regular basis,

as you update your site,

they holinkers are all lazy fucks and never update there sites,

they hotlink a movie and leave the link there 5 months,

my movies never are online more than a week, then the next scene comes up and the old one gets deleted,
