theodp writes "The earliest episodes of Sesame Street are being made available on DVD, but the NYT notes Volumes 1 and 2 carry a rather strange warning: 'These early 'Sesame Street' episodes are intended for grown-ups, and may not suit the needs of today's preschool child.' So why are they unsuitable for toddlers in 2007? Well, in the parody 'Monsterpiece Theater,' Alistair Cookie ? played by Cookie Monster ? used to appear with a pipe, which he later gobbled. 'That modeled the wrong behavior,' explained a Sesame Street executive producer, adding that 'we might not be able to create a character like Oscar [the Grouch] now.'" http://slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=0...80249&from=rss :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh https://youtube.com/watch?v=aUmYGLIubho |

Who gives a fuck?

Being a kid is not appropriate for kids anymore... our schools banned dodgeball, tag, cupcakes, and all fried food. This year the school is also required to file a police report on any kid involved in a schoolground fight, even if they are 3rd grade girls in a lunchroom spat!

Here, they send kids home from school if they have unhealthy food like sweets in their lunchbox. Also the word 'black' is basically erased from vocabulary at schools... :disgust |
I'm starting to think George Orwell came really short in "1984"

can understand them trying to introduce healthy foods but reporting grade 3 fights to the police is plain crazy. |
take a little bit away slowly and the people won't notice until it's too late.
Welcome to too late. |
