can throwing masters...either faked digitally, or they tried 8,000 times to get it right.

I love the nonchalantness of the throws.

Spunky 11-27-2007 05:09 PM

Great shots..must have done it thousands of times

Brother Bilo 11-27-2007 05:53 PM

I don't see it being fake. Probably just sat there throwing cans until it went in. It's not hard with enough practice

Vick! 11-27-2007 06:19 PM

A butt load of practice must have been done..

BV 11-27-2007 06:30 PM

has to be digitized

AaronM 11-27-2007 06:36 PM

Don't know, don't care....But I would like those wasted minutes back after watching that crap.

D 11-27-2007 06:36 PM

I get the feeling that after just about every cut, they all broke down and went "yeah! I made it!"

Pleasurepays 11-27-2007 07:01 PM

i would say fake. a couple of them almost make it and hit pretty hard on the rim and then quickly fall inside as if they were pulled in. also, many of them are very unspectacular... why lay on a bed or sit at a desk trying 20-30 times to throw a can over your shoulder into the garbage if you knew you couldn't do it in 1-2 shots.

probably they rigged something to reel them in to the garbage cans. why aluminum cans? if they had that talent they could be throwing anything anywhere they want. most likely, its the property of the cans they need. a very light aluminum can can be more easily guided through the air by something gently reeling it in than a heave object without looking like its not flying on its own. the heavier the object.... the more difficult it is to manipulate in flight and the greater the chance of it looking like it is being manipulated.

and they also work very hard each time at selling the illusion by intentionally acting extremely nochelant about it.

Shagbunny 11-27-2007 07:05 PM

the kick ins were the most impressive to me

you're pretty on base, i noticed the same thing about the cans, but i think it's the cans shape rather than it's properties that make it a good candidate. i think the shape makes it look more real to re digitize, plus it fits in with the theme of everyone drinking then throwing away their can in the garbage

he kicks it at 1:44 and it doesn't look real at all... it gets pulled into the garbage. there are a few like than.

anyway... i can't believe i stopped to even think about it :)

who 11-27-2007 07:23 PM

I am telling you all that it's real. Geez, 10 or so attempts at each throw and you'll hit it. It'd take a day or two no more. It would take a lot longer to digitize.

DEA - banned for life 11-27-2007 07:32 PM

take vid clips of every attmempted shot..splice together all the clips of the made shots and..wallah...Cans Pro

CurrentlySober 11-27-2007 07:59 PM

Theres a midget, (Wee-Man from Jackass) hiding in the bin, who actually throws the can out to them.
The film your seeing is shown in REVERSE, and they all walk backwards to complete the illusion...

hahahahaha, somebody sounds like a grumpy old man. didn't you ever goto college/university? guarantee thats all this was was a bunch of shit broke college buddies with a camera and an interesting way to kill some time. throw around a bunch of popcans with a half inch of pop left in the bottom of them, eventually you're gonna get good at it. they could have done the same thing sitting around smoking doobs and playing hackysack. they just got creative...

exactly, mos tof those throws would have go in after a dozen or so tries. and alot of them were just pure luck. besides, if you leave that half inch of pop inthe bottle, and throw it nice and straight with a little spin on it (just like they did) the can will follow a fairly straight and predictable path. i'm guessing, judging by the sheer number of shot sin the film, that they threw quite a few cans around. after tossing a can around a few hundred times, i'm sure they were hitting some these shots on second or third try, maybe even the first.

Ok, so it wouldbe just as hard to throw it out of the trashbin to a dude walking backwards.

I know you were just yanking our cranks anyway

Also, they might be physics majors or something. Maybe each setup is practiced taking in to account many variables...can weight, target distance, sitting or walking, arm strength, etc.

i just threw a bottlecap over my shoulder to the left at a glass on my desk. I got it in after 5 tries by firing for effect, then adjusting and walking it in.

bronco67 11-27-2007 10:06 PM

just attempted again and couldn't repeat it after about 30 tries. There's a lot of luck involved.

Young 11-27-2007 10:07 PM

i can explain the kicked can.

string tied to the top of the can. the can is pulled down at the exact moment it is near the rim.

Young 11-27-2007 10:09 PM

I'd say combination of all three. Staged, Digital and Practiced. Take a look at the throw around 48 seconds for example. The shadow on that one looks extremely fake.

Young 11-27-2007 10:11 PM

Also around 56 seconds there is an inconsistent shadow underneath one of the cans.

Angry Jew Cat - Banned for Life 11-27-2007 10:14 PM

100% too much free time for some college kids. end of story...

CuriousToyBoy 11-27-2007 10:16 PM

Watch the way each of the cans hold's it's lines in the air and when kicked...

Never see any liquid come out of any on the throws at all either.

At the very least cans are bottom weighted.

That would make the regulatory of getting it right far greater also.

2c

fatfoo 11-27-2007 10:23 PM

i think it's real and it took a shitload of tries

V_RocKs 11-27-2007 10:37 PM

Weighted can. Fishing wire. You throw and it goes... No matter what it falls in the can.
