Philippines Immigration
Any webmasters here live in the Philippines?
What's it like? Is the immigration process difficult? I've read that a $30K investment into tourism will secure a renewable 2 year investment visa. |
Why not just get a SRRV visa ?
(35 – 49 years old - US$ 50,000.00 deposit ) A. Options to: 1. Reside permanently with multiple entry privileges. 2. Convert dollar time deposit into active investments allowed by PRA. 3. Convert dollar time deposit to other foreign currencies. B. Exemptions from: 1. Exit Clearance, Re-Entry and annual registration requirements of the Bureau of Immigration. 2. Travel Tax provided that the holder has not stayed in the Philippines for more than a year from date of last entry. 3. Tax and duty on importation of household goods/personal effects up to US$7,000.00 (i.e, Furniture and Appliances) 4. Student Visa and/or Special Study Permit. C. Opportunities to: 1. Start a second home with your family. 2. Be gainfully employed upon issuance of the Alien Employment Permit (AEP), to which PRA can assist. 3. Pursue studies anywhere in the Philippines. D. Guaranteed repatriation of the required dollar time deposit including interest upon cancellation of the SRRVisa. Are you sue you want to invest $30K and never visted ? How do you know you will even like it ? |
Why are you moving to the philippines?

You can visit the Philippines as a tourist without a visa and stay up to 2 years by extending your visa waiver for 2 months at a time beyond the initial 21 days. If you are married to a Filipina you will be allowed to stay for 1 year.
If you decide to take up legal residency in the Philippines be prepared to pay a lot of tax: 35% on worldwide income. Other than that, life can be wonderful in the Pinas :-) |
