RIP Dubrow. Went to a Quiet Riot show a couple years ago, and Dubrow kept hitting on my girlfriend lol. She was freaked out, haha.

really? a blog post says a local "has been" died... his wiki page was updated immediately with this info and all of this is happening right before a new album is released?

You're suggesting a publicity stunt? Or am I misreading your words.

I doubt a fake death would be beneficial to the band, new album or not.

you're right. who would think about publicity at a time like that? i'm sure their new album would have topped the charts in days because their last smash hit was only 20 something years ago.

anyway... deaths, i have heard also tend to be reported in news publications and grieving peoples first thoughts as a general rule aren't "oh shit... gotta go update wikipedia.com"

Pleasurepays 11-26-2007 11:09 AM

i saw Quiet Riot with Dio when i was in junior high
was very cool BTW

I learned of them as Randy Rhoads first band.. Then they came out with Metal Health which was the hugest selling rock album of all time I think. Wasn't that good, but it had HYPE baby.. huge huge massive HYPE and MTV just dying for anything..

Even they didnt like covering Come on feel the noise.. they tried to play it badly, but it went on the album anyway and was a smash, lol. Go figure :)

RIP!

tony286 11-26-2007 11:58 AM

They're reporting it now as "confirmed" on Metal Circus.

Too bad, I was hoping to catch them live sometime.

Actually, older than that. It's a remake of a song by the highly popular in the UK only, British band "Slade".

Slade had 3 songs debut iat the number one spot on the UK pop charts. No other band foreign or national holds that honor in the UK. In the United States, no band has even done it once.

Joe BrainCash 11-26-2007 12:17 PM

I saw them opening for Vince Neil..Vince is such a drunken slub, turns out Quiet Riot stole the show on that night.

Metal Health is a classic 80's metal rock album.

RIP

I was a big Slade fan before Quiet Riot came along, and was disappointed when two of the biggest QR songs belonged to a much better band that couldn't get much airplay in the States.

Slade playing "C'mon Feel the Noize"

Anyway, sorry to hear about the death of Kevin DuBrow at such a young age...

RIP

Same thing, I don't remember them personally but got to Quiet Riot over Randy Rhoads - goin to play "Metal Health" to remind me on them - it is nothing that groundbreaking compared with my other favourite 80's rock n metal albums, but this noize sure resonated with the headbangers !

R.I.P. Kevin. Many great guys out there already, unfortunately a real baddass all star bands out there..

nikki99 11-26-2007 08:24 PM
