bringing traffic to new forum
 

I just opened up a new forum for my existing site but was wondering how i can advertise it and get posters on the forum to start it off?

Overall what do i need to do to make it active and have users not lurkers.

What kind of forum?

just a regular adult forum where people post clips, pictures, talk about porn. Something like pornbb and all the other forums.

What's the link? Hopefully for you, it's not contents ripped off from members area 'cause that'd be illegal!

well im not looking for password exchange, cracking and crap like that. I don't see how lawsuits would be against me?? Even if someone posted some illegal shit like rapidshare links it would get deleted. Its more of a discussion forum.

Talk on other forums with link to your in sig
Post some disputable and start discussion on your forum
etc

And don't forget to link all keyword (in posts on your forum) to PPC SE - it's give to you TONS of money :winkwink:

He puts another forum link in his sig here and GFY will ban him. The days of the file-sharing forums and blogs are numbered and it will be going back underground soon.

That's cool man. Just :2 cents: - I know that adultadworld has zango which could be an issue with people linking in - but I heard they have zango free links in the admin panel. Good luck with that:thumbsup

very difficult to get a forum going these years

the effort you need to put into it, when it is likely to never grow much at all, might be better off put into other types of sites that would be a better investment of your time and effort

Hate to say it, but it is nearly impossible to get a new forum going, other than a sprinkle of postings once in a while, UNLESS you happen to focus on an extremely tight niche that is not being covered anywhere else.... and that still won't be easy.

If you don't believe me, look around the net and you will see.... some really nice sites with forums on them only get a few posts a day. The ones that are busy have been around for many years. A general interest type forum needs so much traffic to even get a flow of posts going, as most people stop by for a lurk and leave.

Some high traffic sites add a forum and try to make a go of it, but they have the traffic first and even then their forums are hit or miss. The internet has matured, and it is really hard to find a niche that is worthy... but a tight niche is the only hope unless you have an unlimited budget.

I wouldn't recommend advertising for a general type forum, you will spend far more than you will ever recoup. Adwords will suck all your money and you will get no posters out of it.

tough work i got a forum which is alexa top 6k with 60k uniques a day it just aint easy mate !

Search engine optimize it, maybe advertise it on other sites, buy some hardlinks?

Best advice...give it up. Your wasting your time. Too many forums out there bro.
