The Bugatti Veyron and I've got pics!

I have to admit that I'd never heard of the Veyron until someone made a post about one on this board. I didn't like the way it looked at first but the more I found out about it the more I began to appreciate it. Of course I wanted to see one in person and have been searching for one ever since.

I went home for Thanksgiving and there in the Porsche Dealership sat this Bugatti Veyron! Now, after seeing one in person I can only describe this thing as a beautiful beast. It is simply stunning.

Here are a few pics I managed to grab while it sat on display in the parking lot and a few of it tucked in for the night. I'd post a video clip of me sitting in it revving up the engine but I'm scared someone might send this thread to the salesman's boss and get him fired :1orglaugh

jeffrey 11-26-2007 12:45 AM

I'd rather have a 911 GT3 or even a 911 Turbo over the Veyron personally.
I mean the Veyron is quite an impressive car, but the lines just dont do it for me.

Ivo 11-26-2007 12:46 AM

What a nice car !!! :thumbsup

calibra 11-26-2007 12:53 AM

I think around 1.5 million USD

justinsain 11-26-2007 07:37 AM

Now I can scratch the Veyron off my list and I'm still on the hunt for an Enzo and an Audi R8 to see and photograph. Here's a couple more of an amazing car.

Hi Justinsain, I went to a Ferrari race a few weeks ago and they had 2 Enzo's and a Maserati that was basically an Enzo underneath...I believe that it was one of only 12 built.

I tried to post the images here, but apparently you have to make 30 posts, or something such, before you can post url's here. Below are the pics.

clearly the most sick-diculous car on the planet. for now... I have my sights more realistically set on the C6 supervette.. call-it the ZR-1 / blue devil / stringray / SS .. US$100k and enzo-like performance.

Last year The Speed Channel had Jeff Gordon testing the C6 at Road Atlanta. Jeff ran the hell out of it and was all smiles as he told about receiving a one-way plane ticket along with a set of keys for the ride home.

The Maserati is a MC12. I think they are 25 built of the normal version and 12 cars built of the Corsa version (which is a racing version of the normal MC12)

djroof 11-26-2007 09:27 AM

simply awesome ride!

pornguy 11-26-2007 09:33 AM

Not my type of car. I would be afraid to drive it, because of some under insured ass hot hitting it.

DaCaptain 11-26-2007 09:47 AM

Bike, we talked with a bunch of folks at the race and hands down, everyone liked the Enzo's better than the Maserati.

florin 11-26-2007 09:47 AM

Woaww! Now, thatīs a car! Way too expensive though...

Where was that at and is it an annual event? I see the yellow transport in the background in the yellow enzo pic and they are based near me. I'd love to go to something like that! Thanks for the pics.

DaCaptain 11-26-2007 09:50 AM

Dollarmansteve, the vette is nice...my brother-in-law has one. I've got a Mercedes CL55 AMG and highly recommend AMG Mercedes. My car is really fast, has lots of torque, handles like it's glued to the road, and has every comfort option known to man. Just a thought for you, before you drop 100 grand on a vette...give Mercedes' AMG lineup a once over.

DaCaptain 11-26-2007 09:57 AM

Justinsain, yep it's an annual event put on by the Ferrari club here in Louisiana. It was at No Problem Raceway in Bell Rose, La.

noproblemraceway.com

It's pretty cool. A bunch of guys that own Ferraris just get out on the track and race them all day long. You get to see 599's blow by old 308's. Enzo's blow by the 599's, etc. As you can see, they let some of the folks race other cars as well, the Maserati, they had a few Porches. The non-Ferrari owners were all folks that somehow participated in the event, like one of the Porche guys was the photographer and did the graphic work.

That same one was at a dealership in San Diego in the past

egbiz 11-26-2007 10:52 AM

BTW, I find it hard to believe you were allowed to sit in the vehicle, let alone rev it up ... Crazy if true :)

I have an '02 C5 corvette Z06. The new ZR-1 isn't released yet (it goes on sale as a 2009 model next year and is debuting at the Detroit Autoshow). I've driven the C6 Z06 as well - performance-wise it isn't that far away from mine although the interior is nicely updated.

The new supervette will be forced-induction putting out 650+ hp, new light-weight technologies (more carbon firbre, etc) as well as a completely new handling / braking setup. It will be well beyond the performance of the current C6 Z...

My girlfriend has an SLK55 AMG.. personally, I hate it in every way. I certainly wouldn't need a CL-sized luxo-cruiser. Perhaps for a winter-beater I would consider a C63 / CLK63 or something similar (if i had the budget...). I really don't like auomatics.. and would never buy any car (unless its a beater) with an auto. The manual shift mode of that transmission is garbage. Unless it's a ferrari, I'll take a nice 6-spd manual any day.. call me an old-school purist.

Plus, the vette can still get almost 30mpg on the highway and it's cheap to maintain.

Gary_TLX 11-26-2007 11:20 AM

Very nice and very impressive car for sure. :)

martinsc 11-26-2007 11:29 AM

damn... that thing gives me wood...

fuzebox 11-26-2007 11:39 AM

I must be the only guy on earth who thinks this Veyron is hideous... I'm a big car fan and normally love that sort of thing, but I just cannot accept it, it's too weirdly shaped for me, and the two tone thing just does not work.

I'll also add that this car was owned by Bugatti, not for sale and was on loan to the dealership for promotional purposes and has been touring around the US. It already had 27,000 miles on it.

I took pictures when it sat outside while the dealership was open and I took video when it came time to put it away so I could capture the sound.

Big difference between the SLK and CLK and the CL class. To each his own though. I've never been a huge fan of vettes. 30 mpg is impressive in a car that fast, though. My car gets about 11 mpg.

Post some pics when you get your car. :thumbsup

I'm aiming for spring 2010.. or maybe 2009....

I should say that I'm kind of a 'GM guy' - my dad has worked at GM for 30+ years. GM paid for my education.. my food, my clothing, everything we had as a family when i was growing up. You learn from a young age to covet the corvette.. it's engrained in me.. almost genetic :P
