How will the subprime loan meltdown affect YOU?

Great video on how banks use loans/debt to "create money": http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...74362583451279

After watching that, read this article on the recent subprime loans meltdown: http://www.nytimes.com/2007/11/25/we...=1&oref=slogin

Put it all together and try not to shit your pants.

Very interesting, but for generations, Americans and the rest of the world for that matter have faced very grim outlooks. The end result is that people bounce back, the majority adjust to live within the means set forth and the economy will slowly start to recover.

It may take 1 year, 5 years or even 10...but in no way will we be where our parents and grandparents were during the great depression. there are just to many economical avenues to keep incomes and our society afloat.

I do agree with you on one thing: the costs involved are HUGE. It will definitely incentivize global capital players to avoid moves that will reveal that the Emperor wears no clothes.

I think the subprime thing isn't going to have nearly the effect the bad news bears are saying it will.

When things are slowing down the bears always make it out to be worse than it really is.

When things are speeding up the bulls always make it out to be better than it really is.

I think the media makes it worse, bad news sells so they pump it up and it becomes a self for fulling prophecy.
