ZENN Car, legal in US but not in Canada?

ZENN stands for Zero Emissions, No Noise.

Canadian made fully electrical car. Won the 2007 Michelin challenge Gold prize for urban car. Available in US, not in Canada. :upsidedow

Great little car to get around locally. Costs about $12,000. If you can afford a second car and do alot of local trips (shopping, beer, groceries) not a bad little car. :thumbsup

why is it illegal in Canada ?

Shagbunny 11-25-2007 11:08 AM

good question, i think simply because the govt just has gotten around to checking the car out even thought its been approved for road use

tony286 11-25-2007 11:11 AM

that is very cool for short hops.

It is legal in Canada now. Unless I'm thinking of a different electric car company?

Doctor Dre 11-25-2007 11:18 AM

It's legal in certain parts of canada... There is a loophole in the regulation that's going to get fixed in the Quebec province (it was considered too small too be on the road with the actual regulation) within the next couple months.

Same thing with segways... that will be nice on the roads, 30km max... and they want to lower the speed limit in the city of mtl to 40km/h

haha... Michelin Challenge. funny. i guess i never thought about tire companies have nothing to lose from alternative fuels because any car will always need tires.

it will be a cold day in hell before we see the BP/Arco/Exxon/Chevron/Shell Challenge.

Evil E 11-25-2007 02:27 PM

The reason it's not legal on the road is that you can't get plates for such small vehicles right now.

danevans 11-25-2007 04:23 PM

no noise doesn't sound too good / safe.. you don't know what hit you..

Zuzana Designs 11-25-2007 04:27 PM
