Want someone to push 10-20mbit on a server to test it.
 

Hi!

I want to stress test a new hardware platform with a constant flow of 10-30mbit of traffic for a few days or a week straight. I'm not looking to make a sale here, just trying to 'burn-in' hardware from a new vendor and I want to see how well it handles the heat.

I'm looking for someone that has the ability to switch some links and pull down 10-30mbit. Probably this would be someone that offers movie files, etc.

I'd like something simple - just to assign an FTP account and a few IP addresses. Looking only for one person or two and hope to get something right away.

If he wants EXACT stats on his server load this is the way to do it. He can change the size of the page in real time to affect the load that is being pulled. The other way he will get someone listing a movie all at one time for a few hours? He will never get accurate stats this way. Who wants free bandwidth for a week? That's more of a hassle than even the cheapest guys would put up with.

Brad, why not just hit the machine on an internal network? You could hit the machine harder and it is in a more controlled environment.

I'm actually feeling a bit ill so I'm going to hit the sack for the evening... but will come back tomorrow to figure something out. Yes, I suppose some testing could be done internally. However, I'm just looking for a real world test - plus I don't really want to micromanage anything in the process except for reviewing logs and the server's status.

I know he has a point about the inconvenience so perhaps I will just pay someone to use the free bandwidth... It's all just business anyways, I want what I want.
