What $$$ amount do you need on PPS to promote a site?

If you like pay per signup sites, what dollar amount do you feel a site needs to have for you to promote it?

What dollar amount do you feel a site needs to have for you to promote it a lot?

Shouldnt it all boil down to how much you get per unique click sent.

I have been .004 on some 70.00 PPS and I have been .08 on some 30.00 PPS.
Now what makes more sense?

SkeetSkeet 11-24-2007 07:44 PM

yeah the higher per click makes more sense always !

qxm 11-24-2007 07:47 PM

yeap its all about conversions..........I promoted a sponsor who was giving 80+ PPS and converted 1! ..... at the same time I promoted a revshare proggie paying 15 bucks (60%) and I made more money with the "lesser one".....go figure.....

Nicky 11-24-2007 09:54 PM

Boils down to $$ per click

tony286 11-24-2007 09:56 PM

doesnt going pps tend to lead to more fraud than rev share?

Brujah 11-24-2007 10:26 PM

I would say $15+ is a good place to start. Depends on the niche, exclusive content, exclusive VIDEO content, etc. If it doesn't convert well the payout has to raise to make it interesting enough to keep sending traffic for awhile to see if it works out. If the payout is high enough, it'll attract a few affiliates who are good with buying traffic and with buying ppc clicks as well as other sponsors looking to convert their traffic.

I always thought it boils down to CPM.

Don't clicks also depends on the quality of banners/promo tools from a certain program?

V_RocKs 11-25-2007 01:54 AM

$35 is a minimum.
If your site doesn't convert for shit compared to a good $35 sponsor like Nasty Dollars then you need to up that amount to $40 or even $50.

Other wise I will just promote something like Quickbuck which does $50.

are you always sure about the results? different sponsors, different tracking: some track 1st page hits, some join page hits...

That basically helps to determine the CTR.

CPM is the cost per 1000 views, so just basically surfer impressions. Look at this way, and you can juggle the numbers to get different results.

So if you do 10,000 impressions @ $10CPM = $100
If your CTR(ClickThroughRatio is 5% you would have 500 clicks
If your signup ratio is 1:100 @ $30, you would be making 5 x $30 = $150
Your cost per click would be $.20
Your earn per click would be $.30

I try to be but honestly if I track my outgoing clicks and sponsor a pays me five cents a unique and sponsor b pays me two cents a click, I tend to favor sponsor A.

Though do keep in mind I am prinarly a revshare guy.

Quotealex 11-25-2007 06:54 AM

$70 per SU minimum and a max ratio of 1:500.

Definitely, some types of content will attract more lookie-lou clicks from people who are curious but maybe not enough so to buy. So you might get way more clicks from the same number of impressions on say a midget porn site but make the same money for the same number of impressions on a sponsor with far fewer clicks. So your impressions to dollars ratio could be the same for both, but the clicks to dollars ratio for the more unusual sponsor will be lower. My experience promoting anyway.

After Shock's first post said it best.
