BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Three suspected al Qaeda militants, including two sisters, beheaded their uncle and his wife, forcing the couple's children to watch, Iraqi police said on Friday.

The militants considered that school guard ******* al-Hayali was an infidel because he did not pray and wore western-style trousers, they told police interrogators after being arrested in Diyala province northwest of Baghdad.

That's the kind of action that makes Al Qaeda an increasingly marginalized force in Iraq. For most of it's post-WWII history, Iraq's Sunni's have been largely secular. This kind of extremism just adds to people's distaste for Al Qaeda and extremist Islam in general. Perhaps, Iraqis are now separating Islamic extremism from nationalist resistance. You don't necessarily have to be the former in order to subscribe to the latter.

Or the iraqi officials just labeled them 'al Qaeda' to distance the iraqi people from that sort of behavoir.

Recently Europe started 2 world wars. Slightly more of a nuisance than some tribal shit. Also Islam is 700 years younger than Christianity. What were Christians in Europe like 700 years ago? Hell just 300 years ago they were burning young girls to death for being witches. By that account if Muslims stops "honor" killing it's women before 2300 AD they'll be ahead of Christianity.

I don't think most here have killed anyone based on their spiritual beliefs (whether it be Buddhist, Hindu, Jewish, Atheist, Agnostic or whatever). I doubt most of the people here have killed anyone for any reason at all.

And I'm not entirely sure what your personal spiritual beliefs have to do with anything here... apart from the idea that maybe you're acting out against some personal resentment you have in regards to Christianity.

The topic here is a human issue, imho.
