Southern California is burning... AGAIN
 

Just watching CNN and watching as 1,500 acres (so far) have burned in Southern California, again. 35 homes destroyed already and people being evacuated as we speak. What is it with the holiday season that always brings us some sort of disaster?

Apparently the idiots in this thread yakking about California being polluting because of fires must forget that major fire is a VERY IMPORTANT part of the renewal process of nature. In fact, many types of trees cannot go to seed without fire, it resets the process and allows for new life. They start on their own as well and if people weren't around to build and own the land and put them out, they would just burn their way out like they did before people came along.

I'd attribute it more to the seasonal dryness and the dead underbrush throughout the California landscape than the Holiday or the irresponsibility of the natives.

At least there is only 4 more months until the rainy season.
