Industry Input: Contacted by a Piracy advocate

I am receiving correspondence from an individual who asking me questions, which I feel, should be better directed to the adult industry as a whole. His blog is here:
http://neuron2neuron.blogspot.com/
He claims he to be a non-bias reporter for P2P technology, however, am I the only one not seeing that by reading the blog?

Please post your comments here as I will be directing him to this thread for answers. He is asking how the adult industry can put a number, in monetary value, on content theft.

Quote:

Also, how do you come to the estimation of $100k
(This was his question to me regarding to my generalized value of a 100 page thread containing dozens of adult site rips. The number is low I know)
This was a point made I believe on the G4 show, by the Pirate Party representative, against both the 4% claim, as well as the MPAA's $6.4B claim. Exactly how do you define, categorise, or value a loss, or rather, how would you like it to be seen?

Could I also ask you some more wide-ranging questions, such as how do you see copyright going, and do you feel it should be stricter, longer, bigger penalties etc? And finally, what do you see as being the ultimate
aim, or purpose, of Copyright?

His angle appears to be that but I have directed him here to defend himself and ask all the questions he wants.

What is there to defend? They take things that others pay to produce and then give it away to make money for themselves.Did I miss anything?

.. to defend himself if I have mislabeled him as a piracy advocate. I could be wrong but his slanted comments lean towards being a member of the "Pirate Party".

...I aim for a fair and balanced approach, which means info and details on both sides. For the record, I was a copyright enforcer myself, employed by record companies and dealt with>> not just digital, but physical copyright infringement throughout Europe.

There is nothing fair and balanced about it, they use things they didnt pay to produce to make money. Its not for some higher good as the people tell themselves instead of admitting they are doing something wrong. For some reason when hiding behind the computer makes it alright, when most of them would never walk into the store and steal something.

No worries. The thing that pisses me off is that we shouldn't have to be explaining anything in relation to putting a stop to illegal file-sharing. What's so hard to see for them?
