I wouldn't say it's on the brink of collapse. But the country is on the brink of an extreme revolution. Next 20 years are going to be incredible.

nope, just a slow-down, there will still be a growth but about 1.5% I believe I red in the papers instead of the expected 2.5% or so, which means further depreciation of the dollar though (at least in the short run)

not likely.. you would have to go through a deep recession then a depression before hitting a collapse.

I'd like to think that the global economy is so closely intertwined that it will collectively forge a solution to prevent any collapse. Collapse of one will lead to collapse of others so I think, out of self-interest, such a collapse will be guarded against
