Dear ePassporte Account Holder,

For security purposes, ePassporte has recently modified the functionality of your Account. Below is a list of changes which will take effect immediately:

1. You may only receive money from the Sponsor that you obtained your ePassporte Account from.
2. You will not be able to purchase ePassporte Gift Accounts.
3. Any requests to raise your ePassporte Limits must be communicated to ePassporte by your Sponsor.

We hope that the above information is helpful and informative. If you have any questions, please contact us by using the ePassporte Message Center or the contact information listed below.

Matt 26z 11-21-2007 09:30 PM

I'm sure most of the fraud is from sponsor issued accounts with bogus info attached. That's actually a decent move on their part.

Tjeezers 11-21-2007 09:31 PM

I got the card as gift
but paid 4 renewall fees in 4 years

how does this make sence?

Shagbunny 11-21-2007 09:36 PM

ARS went through a verification process a few years back where you had to send them IDs, or they switched you over to checks.

Michael O 11-22-2007 12:18 AM

I will find out as soon as the offices opens.
If this has happened to you please email me your UserID.

For some reason i don not dislike what ARS did that time.
But verification is just not a promo-tool to get affiliates on board.

:thumbsup :thumbsup

The less authentication involved, the more fraud there is. If you were in a high fraud country, and wanted to use stolen credit cards for fake signups, would you rather have a check mailed to you, a wire to a traceable bank account, or an epassporte payment?

There are certain sponsors who seem to set up epassporte accounts for anyone with a pulse (and they take the webmaster's word on that), then after the webmaster has that account they go on to use that at other sponsors.

Hopefully this will slow that down. If not, maybe epassporte will start requiring a wangprint or something before opening an account.

bobby666 11-22-2007 03:44 AM

i didn't get that one

master_blaster 11-22-2007 03:48 AM

was your account verified with them BObby ? I mean documents sent to them (ids etc) ?

okdesign 11-22-2007 03:51 AM

very bad news for me! :(

baX 11-22-2007 04:40 AM

My ePass account is a gift account from another webmaster not sponsor and its working fine (for now). I have all features available except for "Sending money to other Business Accounts" but I don't need that.

BlackCrayon 11-22-2007 05:47 AM

This must be a mistake. There would be no way epass would make you have one card per sponsor. that would be a mess. You'd have to carry a bag full of them to the atm's just to get your money, and no doubt get robbed while you're there. I never got such a message. Was this in your message center or something?

Michael O 11-22-2007 08:26 AM

This rule change have happened because of the account type you have please email me your UserID to [email protected] and we will review your account on Monday and see if the restrictions can be lifted from your account.
I apologize for the inconvenience this is causing you.

Thanks

Why would you put restrictions on an account and then lift them just because the account owner asks?

We will review the accounts and see if the restrictions can be moved on a case by case basis.

teg0 11-22-2007 08:47 AM

I hope I don't run into this problem. I received an account form a sponsor as well. ePassporte shouldn't do this to their customers because many of us only use epassporte in the first place because of receiving a gift account. Many of us have already paid fees and have gone through the account verification process with faxing in documents and everything.

This is only happening to people who got their cards given to them by a sponsor. Anyone who signed up for the card themself is not having a problem.

Its only affecting a couple of sponsors that opens a special kind of account.
