Virgin rocks, i traveled from London Heathrow to San Diego via LA about 12 years ago on Virgin 1st class. They picked me up from my home in a limo i got taken to the VIP area where i could shower have a haircut and massage. Then onto the lounge area where they served a cooked breakfast and or caviar and champagne. The lounge had a library, choice of 100 current DVDs or a huge model train set that would be the envy of every 30 year old boy. Time to board and you are escorted via a special VIP trolly to the aircraft. Baggage, passport checking and duty free are all taken care of ( this was before 911 ) In first class is a bar for drinks and snacks also a games area to pass the time until take off. The leather covered armchairs convert into 6'-6'' long beds if you wish to sleep for the 9 + hour flight. They even give you pajamas and sleep a mask . After take off more champagne then you are served lunch which consisted of a steak or chicken, fish or vegetarian dishes. More champagne or a choice of 12 red and 6 white wines. About 4 hours after lunch they serve dinner with more wine or something stronger if you wish. An unlimited flow of Brandy and coffee follows an unbelievable selection of desserts. You are first off the plane and whisked through passport control then you spend a short time in immigration, then its off to your limo. In my case they drove me 100 miles to San Diego in a huge 12 person limo which i had all to myself. Snacks again where available with more whisky or brandy. This is what i call first class service but it came at a price of $12,000.00. I did get a free business class ticket to go back to the UK at anytime and i sat next to British Film Star Helen Mirren. Truly an amazing experience

yeah I'm excited about the vegas to san fran and vegas to ny flights on that airline. The planes are amazing and the prices are ridiculously cheap (i hope they stay that way). I just wish they would open up LV to LA flights.

They have them . . . as long as you don't mind paying double (or triple) and changing planes in San Francisco.

I'd rather take a train any day, cheaper and better but surely not faster. I hate airline travel anymore. First class service on the train is still better than that, but that does seem to be a major improvement over the normal BS. But no International service? WTF? Thats when you could actually use comforts like that. Waste of money for a 3 hour domestic flight.

Does Virgin still tell me I cant have the whole can of Coke like United did?

heh, given the prices and the line, it would almost be worth it.
