If you could erase a single moment in your life---would you do it?

If you had a chance to completely erase a pivotal moment in your life that put you where you are now, would you do it? I am not talking about erasing bad things you did or regrets.

Even if you are pretty happy in the place you are at now(you're married, have a great job, kids, etc), there IS one moment in time that put you where you are today. Perhaps you went to a bookstore and met your future wife or spoke to someone who knew someone else that got you in this industry, etc. I am talking about that single moment. Would you erase it if it was possible? No one in your current life would know anything different because they wouldn't be part of it,-no one would get hurt, nothing.. It would just be gone and your life would have taken a new path.
Of course, this isn't possible without a magic genie--just hypothetical.

I'm sure almost everyone would

There are MANY moments in my life I would erase. One is being made fun of in high school a few times. I think I'm still traumatized by it and it somehow affected my self esteem to this day, more than 10 years later.

PaygeaGrl 11-21-2007 08:59 AM

even if you are so happy with your life, do you think you would still change the course of it?

Well, I'm not happy with my life, not only would I want to change the course of it, I would change it completely, in every way possible.

PaygeaGrl 11-21-2007 09:04 AM

but that's a bad memory..I had many of those too. I am talking about this:

Let's say you went to a party five years ago and your friend introduced you to the woman you are married to now. You have 2 kids, a nice house, etc.

Would you erase that meeting. The moment would have been going to the party.

I just wonder if happy people are really truly happy and complete and would never change that "moment"

When filling out my first FAFSA I selected the wrong year on the input form. This made it so I could not afford the college I wanted to go to.

It was the only college I got accepted to because the other schools I applied to required an SAT II score, for which I slept through when my alarm clock reset itself in a brief power outage.

I would easily erase/replace either/both of those moments.

I would go back and erase the moment I read that GFY gives out DVD players for the longest threads of the week.

That one feature of GFY has caused me more dissapointment by me trying to post questions just like this that never quite live long enough to be "the one".

Good luck though. :)

for sure I would, I would go back to 1980 and not get in the car that morning, then no accident, no living a life full of pain.

FUCK NO! Every moment lived has made me who I am and how I think today. To be honest, I'm pretty fucking happy with myself, so NO, I wouldn't change a thing.:warning

gornyhuy 11-21-2007 09:56 AM

I would go back to 30 seconds ago and NOT CLICK THIS THREAD...

And also, I guess you can't "unfuck a tranny"
You might be able to erase the moment, but we'd all know you did it.

Strange question! If I am happy why should I delete the moment that lead to my happiness? Answer: no I wouldn't

CaptainHowdy 11-21-2007 12:12 PM

Good question... I wouldn't erase anything at all, live and learn.

TheLegacy 11-21-2007 12:24 PM

The moment I woke up and thought - "Hey, Lawrence Connor would be a good idea for a contest with Lanni Barbie"

PaygeaGrl 11-21-2007 12:28 PM

when I was 17, my brother wanted me to come up to UCF and go to school with him after graduation. I didn't want to leave my friends, so I stayed in Boca. I would change the moment I said no...

Brother Bilo 11-21-2007 12:35 PM

I wouldn't. Even the dumb or horrible things I've done in my life have lead me to where I am now. I learn from mistakes.
