The "Youtube" style site...Pandora's Box [vote inside]

It would seem to me that there is 0 recourse at this point to prevent them from spiraling out of hand. In the past with tgp's etc. (even ones using stolen content) there was little fear. We always had the video membership model, which was so bandwidth intensive, no one could touch it.

#1 - Now there are a whole slew of cheap b/w providers.

#2 - hundreds of free video hosting sites, hosting up to 1000mb of video for free

#3 - sites like youporn etc. have sky rocketing traffic (off the charts) seeing growth uncommon to any other type of site on the net

So you have a rising demand for video, a lowering cost of bandwidth, & the ability to grab a top 200 alexa market share within a few months.

It seems to me we're in the middle of a perfect storm & no one will have the ability to slow it down.

What is your opinion?

The interwebz is serious business.

Name one of those sites that have a profitable bottom line... All I ever hear is they have no clue and want idea's on how to convert the traffic into cash...

Who's gonna buy something there, when there's 1000 other long length clips to view for free. With that in mind, any advertising sponsorships will dry up
quickly and they realize there is value there.

Eventually the supplied content will also saturate and dry up as the current branding being done by it, will be diluted to the point of wasted time.

VOD sites will buy them up eventually and redirect the traffic.. If thats the goal, then best of luck because I don't see them paying much for site that will be dismantled.

So in my eyes it's a fad, that has to be waited out...

If stolen content is your only concern of harm to the industry, well that's up to your business to deal with and learn how to handle.

imo... it's a temporary problem. it'll dry up sooner or later

Market conditions are changing, whether or not it keeps going is unclear, but the strong adapt, the weak will die off.

doesn't matter if they make a profit or not, they want to take a HUGE bite of the porn traffic and they will (once they get there they might or might not figure out a way to monetize the traffic) which basically means that conversion ratios of 1:3000 are already common as far as "normal" porn membership sites are concerned and they are getting worse by the minute

on personal level I'm switching to datintg and cams (mainstream in the very near future), I'll also launch a tube site or two (with ONLY legal videos provided by sponsors) as soon as I find a good script, tried the one sortie offers here which looked good at first but it turned out I'll have to spend 5 hours importing the videos

Using stolen content to put eyes in front ads is not, a new business plan or market condition. Its fucking theft, it will catch up with them, with the BT their call of innocence was we dont know what surfers are trading we dont host the content but now they are hosting it and thats a big no no. Patience my children the winds of change are gathering momentum and there will be alot of unhappy tube operators.

Actually video sites are the future... Text type ads are going to transition towards TV style ads before a certain ratio of video loads. The software is already there... Only thing needed is for the advertisers to get in there and fill ad inventory! Think about it like this.... For adult content you can have a quick clip of some naked girl and show her whole body and get her looking very seductive and have her say the domain name.... As long as your domain is pronounceable BOOM you have peoples attention!

I am coding a script for this market and working my ass off trying to get it powerful, user friendly AND capable of holding up to the kind of traffic adult sites get.

I used to be able to whack off to pictures but it just doesn't work for me anymore! I can only get it off from video....

Maybe you chose the wrong method or didn't understand something.

It only takes 15 minutes to import the first 3000 flash videos.

Some people go to the import section for a sponsor and then select one site at a time. Don't do that. Select all the straight sites, or all the gay sites, or all the teen sites etc... then click one time and wait 5 minutes then move to the next sponsor.

Then dump in gallery links at 200 galleries at a time and click "pull content" and in about 15 minutes you got another 800 or so videos.

The installation instructions show the fastest way to build a site, but the script allows many options to do it slower for picky webmasters.
Anyone who followed the installation instuctions and had no server issues had their site up and running with videos in less than 1 hour.

I might have a solution for you. :)

personally, I prefer pictures. Don't know why but I love to masturbate to slide shows rather than movies. I like random. I use thumbs plus: go to 26gb "image only" porn folder, show child folders (SUBDIRECTORIES, not cp- morons), whack it to several thousand photos shown at random. If I get bored with whacking to 10's of thousands of high-quality images, I call my GF and I fuck her! Simple stuffs.

Tube sites suck up a lot of porn traffic, but with all the webmasters switching to tube sites and the like, I have a bit more room to stretch my legs. And if I end up being the only guy that likes pictures after a year or so, I'll bite the bullet and buy a high bandwidth dedicated server, and go for broke.

Someone says tube and you immediately jump to the conclusion that it can only mean stolen content.

The more I read of your posts, the more I think you're a real small fish in adult sales. :2 cents:
