Official Sponsor Statement: IntenseCash Spent $10,500 On GFY The Past Month

Here is a message from GFY Top Banner Sponsor IntenseCash.com:

BrokeStraightGirls.com launched this past month, and we have already spent over $10,500 in buying advertising, paying people for sigs, and running contests on GFY.

That's $10,500 in just the first 30 days.

Buying top banner spots directly benefits PlayBoy/ICS financially, and a heavy investment in sigs helps to maintain prolific posters for the board.

We decided to make GFY a significant part of our marketing strategy during launch, and well into the future. With new sites in the works, our plan is to maintain strong financial investments with this board, and with those that post on it, for a long time to come.

However, it has recently become painfully clear that this forum is no longer moderated or overseen in any fashion.

Yesterday it was disturbing imagery of animal abuse, and what might be next? While we are aware and respect the fact that GFY is a bastion of free expression, and are supportive of that, we feel deceptive threads designed to force members to view emotionally disturbing imagery is counteractive to that mission. In the past, we are aware that GFY has moderated such threads as abusive.

If the new policy of PlayBoy/ICS is to provide no personnel to properly oversee the happenings on this board, very serious liabilities might arise that would make continued financial involvement with this site unwise.

BrokeStraightGirls.com urges PlayBoy/ICS to dedicate the staff and resources that a site of this size requires, and hopes it is not forced to discontinue what has so far been a very mutually beneficial relationship, and what could continue to be a great relationship for the months and years to come.

While BSG might be but a small fraction of this site's total revenue, other sponsors have expressed similar concerns. We feel the need is obvious, and encourage PlayBoy/ICS to take the necessary steps to ensure that GFY continues to be a viable resource for both sponsors and the industry as a whole.

Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter, and we sincerely hope that you as a company rectify these problems expeditiously.

Ah, this is gonna be a good thread. And I agree 100% with the top post. That thread was totally out of line.

Good post... Even though you're shamelessly jumping on the anti-cat pics bandwagon, you made me take an impartial look at the Intense Cash... Might even have to put some links up :thumbsup

What made it even MORE wrong was that it was mislabeled.

I choose not to look at nasty shit like that, and shouldn't be tricked into doing so against my will. :2 cents:

Obviously the "mods" ended up agreeing, but it took a LONG LONG time for them to even see the problem.

What if it had been a CP thread? Would it take days before a staff member happened past the board to deal with it?

Too many liability issues with having too few responsible eyes around. :2 cents:

Violetta 11-18-2007 02:41 PM

We need some mods... I hope it happends soon!

minusonebit 11-18-2007 02:41 PM

They need to get their act together.

Its obvious that the level of oversight for the board is not adequate. This has been demonstrated at least twice in the last week or so, first when the board crashed and was left all fucked up for the weekend and most of Monday and then this cat bullshit, which was left to fester unchecked for a similar amount of time.

I am sure the reason offered for these oversights will be the fact that there was a major show going on and while such things do put a strain on any business, they make a ton of money running this place and as such should have someone paid to mind the house while the owners and head hunchos are away on business.

I don't know how much Playboy/ICS makes from this board a year, but I am guessing it is over $1 million annually. I know they have at least 10 top sponsors at $3K a month each, and several places skin the board at $20K to $50K a pop (heard different numbers) but thats alot of cash.

$10,000 a month isn't enough, if you spent 100K a month skinning the site every day of the month they probably would just pocket the money and not spend it on hiring a mod :2 cents:

I'm not spending what IntenseCash is but as a regular advertiser I would definitely like to see more oversight on the board with regard to thread moderation/locking/deleting (when applicable) and also with regard to signature policing. One of the grandest benefits of being an advertiser in the top fold is being able to have yourself and your friends/clients fly your large size banner. When other peoples signatures go unchecked, it dilutes the effectiveness of those that belong and those that don't are frankly akin to steeling.

GFY has always been a very liberal board and thats good, things are always fresh here. However, I think that from a business perspective some thread oversight would help to increase the advertising value more.

Thats my 2 cents...

I agree with this statement 100% as well.

Especially since a lot of the people flying huge sigs aren't only not advertisers, but are in fact not even webmasters.

Surfers shouldn't have bigger sigs than those that spend good money here to support the community :2 cents:

SexualDragon 11-18-2007 04:50 PM

I would like to apply for the job of thread deleter. nothing more, nothing less

The fake nicks and false accusations hurt real business, and then you end up with a drama board that at best is used for branding your program.

I agree completly with your sig comments. Almost everyone with a sig is violating the rules and we all know the biggest benefit of being an advertiser here is having a big sig. A lot more hits come from the big banner in your sig than being #40 in banner rotation on top the site.

donkevlar 11-18-2007 05:39 PM

You can't really bitch about a thread being mislabeled...

No one would have said shit if it was something equally/more disgusting like goatse or *******... and those are usually posted in worse positions like right in the middle of a USEFUL thread.

I feel for the little kitty but a double standard is a double standard.

xmas13 11-18-2007 05:49 PM

GFY is as lawless as Russia under Boris Yeltsin.

Agreed..there should be defiantly more moderation and instant banning to people that post that disturbing shit.I was disgusted

ridikuloz 11-18-2007 06:13 PM

buy my sig dammnit!

BradM 11-18-2007 06:14 PM

The moderation is poor. The "rules" are bullshit and anyone can say ANYTHING about anyone without any recourse.

I guess we now know the answer to that question: Necrophilia pics.

I can't even believe it. :disgust

tony286 11-18-2007 06:41 PM

Maybe it doesnt make as much as everyone thinks. I was just thinking about it.If it was making 1 million dollars a year with minimal effort.I think there would be much more of a focus on gfy. Think about it,you had something that made all that money and its almost pure profit wouldnt you protect it?

MetaMan 11-18-2007 06:41 PM

shut your fucking mouth dude,

you are by far the most annoying poster on here,

no one likes you, you are a bitch.

After Shock Media 11-18-2007 07:16 PM

Well gfy would take on more mods if your willing to relocate to do so. I know this for a fact.
Hell I personally would love to be a mod, however after playboys buyout a new rule of in house employee's has been put into effect. This went as far as not even allowing someone like myself to volunteer (no pay) and be a mod, still could not happen if it was not in house.
Now if I could just find a way to allow them to let me report in once a month or so for an in day at the office I would be all over it as I do not live that far away. I just will not and can not relocate.

Of course others could relocate and get a job too.

So what? OK so they are looking for someone local to do it. Fine, put an add in the local paper and hire someone for $6 an hour to be a mod. Christ sakes, a 18 year old high school drop out on crack can be a mod. How hard is it to check posts for rules violations. I've heard the same bullshit from GFY, the reason they don't have more mods is because it has to be someone from inhouse, ok then, put more fucking people in your house. The bottom line is whether we bitch or not most people still come to the site and advertisers still pay. As long as GFY doesn't see the bottom line changing why should they increase their expenses. Why should they make the quality of the service better if they don't have too.

i guarantee you this site makes over 1 million a year. Their profit margin is probably somewhere around 90% or better. What expenses ? Hamster food? a couple servers, some bandwidth ? Even if there is only 30 top spots and they avg. $2,000 a month thats 60K a month throw in 1 skin (25K month) and VERY conservative numbers would be around 85K a month. Likely a lot more than that, but I do not know. Before anyone feels the need to jump in and say i am way off on my numbers please see where I said "conservative" they could make over 2 million for all i know. But the site does make good money. By far the best PROFIT machine the entire playboy inc owns.

minusonebit 11-19-2007 04:31 AM

Bump for some results. No more sex with dead things pics.

MiLo 11-19-2007 10:07 AM

Bump. I personally would also like to see some action over gruesome posts and threads. One thing is fantasy, over the top gore and another is real violence. It clearly does not belong here, me being the gorehound that i am still think is fucked. :2 cents:

JD 11-19-2007 10:18 AM

i've asked to be a mod before... but I guess you have to be inhouse now or some shit...

If any GFY Admins are interested in me modding... lmk I'm always on icq ;)
