I read that article and I think its rubbish. As someone who gets over 10,000 hits a day from Overture, I can promise you that their traffic is the best quality that is currently available in the pay per click SE business.

The reason for this is that they get users at the point of entry ie consumer search engines like Yahoo, Msn, CNET, Lycos, Hotbot, Netscape, Altavista, Infospace, Earthlink, Go, Disney etc etc. Who else can do that?

FindWhat may be a good second best but the quality has gone downhill and they lost some major partners recently. So now theyre picking up a lot of what I call "bored surfer" and "nerd" traffic. Users so deep in the web that they only bother to search because theyve got nothing better to do.

Youll pay a min $0.05 for Overture versus min $0.01 for FindWhat but Overture still rules in the quality stakes.... just my $0.02
