Porn is a microscopic market in comparison with most larger mainstream industries, almost all of whom are represented online.
Please no bigger than all major sports combined bs either. That line is so damn played out and over repeated during the last decade. |

At the recent Prague show I met a professor of Internet Marketing, he's at Brunel a top UK university.
He said that 30% of ALL traffic on the Internet is downloading free content from pirate type sites. It's growing and slowing down the Internet. Some people are downloading more than they could possibly view. He also said porn is one of the biggest markets on the Net. He also said services people will pay for on a mobile phone they expect for free on the Internet. It's cultural. :2 cents: Having 1 billion people on social sites is not bringing a lot of food to the table. Not even for ISPs. It's kids in the main. |
Urban Myth ... social sites and their infinite "plugins" is where it's at today.

I read somewhere we are only about 15% of the net. When I worked for mainstream we had a big report on the top 1000 sites at the time. The company that did it went out of business it was more exact then alexa. We would target sites that did over 100k in uniques a month. Most of the book wasnt adult.
People start small blogs on cell phones, being handyman and make a decent living thru google ad words to make 50 to 120k a year on ad words you have to have lots of eyeballs hitting your site. I think porn is our business its the space we are in so its what we see. |
