Mainstream Malaysian blog sells for $10K based mostly on the fact that it has PR6. What do you guys think? Real or UNREAL hmmmmmm..... :eek2

Blog Oh Blog is young (5 month old) and do not have high traffic (1000+ visitors/day), but it received good rankings such as PageRank 6, hahahahahahahahahaha No.44, and Alexa 35,331.

why does it have 35k alexa if the traffic is only ~1000 daily :question

PR means shit.. I know PR1 getting 50k google a day for more than 5 months now..

and I know PR7 getting 100 uniques a day from google..

one of my blogs is top 1000 in alexa and quantcast it gets only 200 uniques a day.. :1orglaugh

I find that extremely hard to believe... With a PR 1 domain it's just too difficult to get enough pages indexed to generate 50K a day. Unless you have a shitload of inbound deep links and a totally flat site structure, giving you thousands of PR 1 pages but only PR 1 on the root... which is unlikely.

PR is a bunch of bullshit...means nothing

alexa is based on PAGE VIEWS not UNIQUE VISITORS

it may only get 1000 uniques, but doesn't mean it doesn't get 35,000 page views... :2 cents:

google isn't everything , i have plenty of 50k+ per day sites that have pr1 or no pr

well i dont know thats really a fair statement..

plenty of sites get lots of traffic with no pr.

that being said . if you are #6 on a highly competitive term for adult and making 1k per month on the spot and you link a bunch of pr6 sites to it from the main page your likely to boost your spot . spot #2 might make twice as much money as #6 = 1k per month extra profit from 1 pr6 site. You make back your money in 10 months from just 1 link.. spread that across 5 or so sites and 5 links and you make your money back in 2 months

a fairer statement i think is pr by itself is useless. if that pr6 was due to a lucky backlink that will vanish next update then its likely useless.

Well i bought pr6 domain for 1050$ so it's not so expensive.

I have a mainstream celebrity blog with a very solid PR 6 and around 100 PR 5 pages, etc.. that gets about 7,000 visits per day if I'm remembering the stats right. I'll take $10k for it.

Hell, I've sold <keyword>blog.com *domains* for $10k, with neither site nor traffic. Not that much money in the grand scheme of things. I'd estimate the SEO usefulness of a PR6 domain of questionable provenance to be about the same as the SEO usefulness of a good keyword domain, so I don't find this story surprising.

However, it's just as likely to be some sort of fake story in support of a pump-n-dump scheme of some kind.

I used to have some BS PR7's that pulled around 1k uniques a day... sold that shit off back when PR meant a LOT more than it does today.

His alexa is low because its a site for webmasters..duh blog themes...
And his auction says it makes $1k/month so where you pull based on pr alone from?
