RSS feeds are becoming an integral part of easy site duplication.

Sponsors need to learn how to properly distribute RSS feeds.

RSS feeds need to be broken down by Category, by Media Type (ie: Movies or Pics), and special care needs to be taken with anchor text and description text being actually descriptive.

I have seen some feeds that actually are broken down by category, but link to single feed, just by a different feed url

If you do have RSS feeds that fit ALL this criteria, feel free to post a link.

By 'broken down by Category' and Media Type, do you mean when you select the feed or the actual post to be linked to a category within the rss file itself?

RSS is fucking easy money for sponsors....it's ridiciolous how many companys are NOT investing in quality feeds.

and gives descriptive text if you only want to pull the text or you can pull an image.

I don't think its more than 20% but that's just my estimate

RoyalCash in my sig has great feeds unlike most sponsor feeds which suck big time

I can name more shitty feeds than decent feeds.

Pimproll has a lot of different niches available and halfway decent feeds. If I had any complaints its that they should put more links in the actual text and not just the title and the thumbs. Linking the title is pointless once I import it into Wordpress. They have different templates available also, which is nice.

Especially funny to know how much it would cost for some particular affiliate program to have its own hosted blog with quality morphing feeds. Let's do some calculation:
1) Blog and RSS morphing software installation: $100-$120 one time fee.
2) Monthly payments to blog poster who will update their blog/feeds daily: $90-$150 (only $3..$5 a day, 30 days a month)!

Is that too much in exchange on high quality SE traffic? I don't think so. I believe some companies are too lazy to do such an easy step toward their affiliates, or they are too poor and/or greedy :2 cents:

P.S. Many programs are thinking it's toooooo much to pay $100 for a professional 3rd-party RSS software, and they deciding to code their own custom RSS scripts. In result of that, their affiliates are getting some raw and incomplete "feeds" with lack of essential features (no morphing, bad ref. code handling => traffic leaks, incompatibility with popular feed-pulling software, even wrong XML implementation etc...)

I think you will find our rss feeds cut it :)

Yes, and no. Much as car sales. They make a pretty car, someone's interested in the car. It's up to the webmaster/car salesman to close the deal.

RSS feeds allow the 'new guy' or 'lazy bastard' or 'person who actually puts time into it' have a few generic bullet points and some general text regarding the content.

Sure, you know the car has four wheels, and she's got two tits and loves sex; these are obvious.

You still need to sell to them how great they'd look in the car with the top down, or just how much this black midget loves the white pole.

That's what my self-actualizing parody was referencing.

Most people use the RSS feeds because they want to put less effort in, and demand more of the sponsor.

RSS feeds are a great idea in concept, but they can be expensive to run because cheap-ass webmasters (to retort cyberxxx's 'only costs $100' statement) use awful scripts like RSS2HTML, or even Magpie with no caching: So each time that site gets a hit, your site has to serve up the XML to them, and if you're really unlucky, does it real time.


To compound this: Bandwidth is not always cheap, you want to be able to serve this from a machine which has direct access to read your database.

Finally, trying to support more features for people already whining to get more without putting any effort forth is not horribly easy. If you get 10 more sales a day from your big affiliates, that's great - but the other 3,000 who just installed WP and are feeding their blog network in real time with your data and bandwidth at their content are neither selling your product, or themselves. They're just playing the law of 'somebody wants porn' averages.

I have had a nice feed for BeachModel for quite some time. You can see it in action on my sample test blog www.singlegirlblog.com This feed is configurable as far as thumb size and type as far as movies or pics.

I also have 2 more hosted blogs that are just about ready to launch. These will have multiple feed categories for each in all.
