What works best for You???

I use sony vegas, depends on your needs. Windows encoder is a good one and its free.

My vote goes for Sony Vegas. It got updated yesterday. Became faster :)

I use ULEAD VIDEOSTUDIO, simple, easy to use effects.

I have both Vegas and Video studio. they are both great. I also have pinnacle, It can be good, but has a lot of bad things about it.

For standard DV, the best video capture program (not editing program with capture ability) is a shareware app called Scenalyzer Live. For HDV, you might try HDV Split, or whatever full featured editing app that you prefer, Premiere Pro with the Aspect HD plugin in my case.
