Came back for a couple of reasons, actually.

1) Was there for 2 years. No family or my good friends lived there. I lived int he city where there was high speed internet and not on the beach. As far as living in the city goes, Vancouver's much nicer than San Jose.

2) I'm involved in some mainstream business ventures in the venture cap stage. Nobody wants to invest millions in Costa Rica. They want offices in North America.

I see ...

I am a bit surprised that people " don't want to invest " in CR ..It is pretty stable, no ?

Anyway, enjoy the rainy season in BC....

Well it's not that people don't want to invest in Costa Rica. That's sort of the short version.

Lots of people are investing in real estate, land development and hospitality in Costa Rica. Still a good investment if you know what you're doing.

However, what I'm working on is some new Internet technology and we're trying to raise $10M for it. US investors want to see an office in Canada or the US that they can walk in to and see what's going on in at any given time. Since I don't have $10M, I just do what I'm told. :)

Who knows what the future holds. I'm kind of a spontaneous person. I'd like to go back and live at least part time on the beach someday, but what happens between now and then is anyone's guess.
