Ive seen throughout history where people get too emotionally attched to their biz and go down with the ship. Nothing wrong with that I can understand. But if you are looking to get out, at least consider selling before you get to a point and cant.

Be smart.. If you see things getting bad the smart thing to do is sell.

US is still at least a place where you can get quite realistically some capital flowing in within a reasonable time, cause it has a tradition there.

Europe is way more conservative in this and not many guys will take a risk.

Crazy me, I am developing several new solo models sites, am considering joining with an established Affiliate program (if the price is right), and may even create a second multi-model site to post the backlog of photo sets and videos that I have not posted on ADG yet (I have hundreds of unposted photo sets and videos, but only post 80 or so per year on ADG - plus I keep shooting more content every week).

The porn business overall, yes.

But many of the old on-line delivery formats, such as the traditional adult content site, are suffering from the satuation of free content that's so accessible...

While free content has always been around, such as in newsgroups, ftp sites, etc it often required some knowledge and extra effort, let alone decent bandwidth - not anymore ... most people have fast connections, and thus only need open a browser window - within seconds access more porn than they could ever view in a lifetime; no need to ever pay.

Not all is doom and gloom though - dating sites and similar are doing well and will continue to - people will pay to meet others, if they perceive the service adding some sort of value, such as easy of search / profiling matching, background checks, member-only events, etc.

Another example are content sites that innovate, such as utilizing virtual reality in which users can be immersed / interact with the content, also have a bright future.

But innovation often takes much effort - so for folks who don't have the desire, time, money, etc to do so, likely do best to sell and move on to something else.

Not so fast...

Much of the free porn you speak of that is damaging to the adult biz, such as entire downloads of complete DVDs/sites/scenes, is based upon content/copyright theft.

Such behavior should not be applauded, since it will result in more and more people that create the content to be forced out of business, and less work for the remaining performers. We're already seeing this...

The law will eventually catch up with the technology, and many of these thieves will find themselves facing huge fines that put them out of business, and lengthy jail sentences (amen to that).

Also, do not be so quick to laud the practices of some of the non-content producing companies that are profiting by advertising on the web sites operated by thieves.

What many of these companies are engaged in is a form of racketeering, where they profit from advertising on sites, while aiding and abetting the content thieves (since in many if not most instances, the advertisers are the primary/sole source of income for the thieves).

Let's also not forget that many of the pill/drug sites are operating illegally, and many of the dating sites are out and out shams, that swindle people left and right, with false profiles, and upsells to other programs (such as cam shows) that they also operate.

The thieves and scammers are having their day, but their days are numbered.

Eventually, if they keep at it, they will end up out of business and/or in jail.

And one advice for site buyers- i notices some people who have network of sites,for example network of tgp sites,send traffic to certain site,sell it,and after that stop sending traffic and site become worthless.

Most people will wait it out.

These guys are overseas and out of reach.

And they will always find someone who will pay them for ad space.
