yeah BF looks really good. but once doom3 is launched it'll be the best by far.

Too much hopping. One of the reasons I hated Counter Strike. You can tell the guys who come from CS or UR backgrounds on BF1942 cause they fucking hop their way across the battlefield.

Hate that shit so I target them first.

ah, hopping (strafe jumping) is great. the hopping craze started with quake multiplayer i believe. damn, my computer sucks so i still actively play q2 multiplayer. heh.

Lol, ya... but I used to play Tokyo Wars alot... :P I've got the firing mechanics down pretty good, I just roll out in my sherman... can hit a guy hoppin down the field from the fog without too much of a prob...

Its just the guys that run up to your tank, hop on the roof and start throwin nades, lol... I suck that close.

Tonight I developed a new method I call "Palestinian Style". I get in my jeep and drive at full speed into enemy armor. Very effective if you can nail them in the side or from behind. Give one life to save the lives of many.

So if you are out there, and you see Osama Bon Jovi coming full speed towards you in a Jeep, kiss it goodbye. By the time you see me yell "Allah'u akbar!"... it is too late.

GL DOOM. Listen fuckers, anyone who sez shit against this will have their nuts ripped off personally by me.

NOTHING beats the sound of a dying imp at close range with a shotgun midi blast. NOTHING FUCKERS.

Also - Unreal (original, not this tourney shit) is a close 2nd to GL doom for 1st person action. Put it on "unreal" and you'll actually be challenged to finish this long ass game. 10 Skaarj on your ass and you're totally toast.

Also - Half-life first person also deserves honorable mention. Great story line.... my only complaint was when it came out 500mhz was like the top dog and it has plenty of bugs. Now tho, it aint no thang.

I'll go you one better. Jump out of the jeep just before you hit the enemy armour. As much damange, and you might be able to take out a few other fellahs around :winkwink:

I can never time it right. Either too soon and not enough impact to take out the tank, too late and the from the jeep / tank collision kills me anyway. I usually only use it on the big desert maps.

Either that or I drive in the backdoor and camp on their spawn with a tank. God the allies hate that.

Lol, I do that too... I usually grab my sniper gun and head to their AA, which has the ammo box and go to town. =)

I just wasted good money on "The Thing"... What the FUCK was I thinking? Oh yeah, that it might actually be an exciting, scary, challenging, fun game, but all it is is repetitive and BORING! Not unlike about 50% of my posts... (Feel free to disagree at any time)

Do any of you guys ever play Ghost Recon? Not as much run and gun, but it's cool to play with your bro's as a team...

Tom Clancys Ghost Recon is one great game, I picked it up a while back and just loved it. The stealth in the game is just bloody brill, I would recommend it to anyone.

Do these computer games ever come with laser guns that you point at your monitor and shoot? Should be allot more fun than keyboard or joystick.

I don't agree on that one mate, I would if you had a huge monitor, but on a standard one it would be crap. Besides most people are so used to using keyboards for games.

I just started with Medal of Honor: Allied Assault. It's the best game I've played in a long time....

Can't believe i didn't mention it. That game is incredibly fun to play, whether you're sniping, or heavy infantry. Game kicks ass!

BF1942 has to be the best game in at least 5 years.
I have almost finished the single player bit. Practicing for multi :)
It is HIGHLY addictive though, if you have alot of work coming up, do not even think about getting it.

Renegade (westood studios) is a good game to get stoned and go shooting some bad guys. :thumbsup

Counter-strike and BF1942 are mainstream games for the newbies.

Unreal 2003 was sent to the presses this weekend.. I played the latest demo and it's, well, unreal. You basically NEED geforce4 video to play it, and TONS of ram.. the game's detail and lighting effects are sick, the movement is silky, the options are countless. I was very impressed at how much effort went into the game.

The only thing I'm not so sure about is the bot AI.. I know in the other Unreal games they just got really accurate as the difficulty went up, but in team games (capture the flag and such) they were useless. We shall see..

Download Doom Legacy and replay the classic Doom in full 3D. Besides for the sprite based enemies and objects, everything looks great, and you'll remember how great the game play was of this old game. It has auto-run, so you can run all the time. It was nuts how fast this game was. I really wish someone would redo a game like this. Serious Sam was the only game to approach this old-style arcade feel, but even they didn't get it done as good as Doom... give it a try, and see. :thumbsup

YEAH! I just bought SOF2 a while ago and I agree it's pretty damn good game! (Holy GHOUL engine, huh?) the realism in the death scenes is kinds creepy (Have you ever looked at the faces-if they still HAVE faces-of the dead guys?) And yup, RTCW is pretty killer too, I haven't tried multiplayer on either yet though.

Uh, anybody interested is a slightly used copy of "The Thing?" CHEAP?

Is "The Thing" that bad? I was going to buy it for Xbox. Mostly seems to get good reviews and the movie was cool.
