wtf is this tgpx bullshit? can't you buy tgp rotator anymore?
so i was holding off for a while, but i got some extra money around and i decided to go and purchase a multidomain copy of tgp rotator, and what do i find? there is no tgp rotator anymore, only tgpx at damn near twice the cost i remember a multidomain copy of tgp rotator being. i don't fucking want tgpx at 190 dollars, i want tgp rotator at 75 or 100 or whatever it used to be! what's the deal? can't i buy tgp rotator anymore? are they hoping i will just feel cornered into buying their new software at a higher price? bullshit.... someone tell me i can still get rotator somehow...

same thing gone under evolution :)

I was also holding off due to other projects, but just today I bought tgpX.. tgp designs for a starting mini network are done, waiting for host & dns stuff to come through so tgpX can be installed.. Yes there's a price difference but I said "fuck it" :) and paid for tgpX without much hesitation as I really do believe it will be worth it, we'll see..

But TGPX server edition is for multiple domains. Rotator required 1 lic. per domain. Description from JMB: TGPX is also available in a Server Edition. This version of the software has all of the same features and is licensed the same way as the standard edition, however instead of being able to only generate TGP pages for the site where it is installed, the Server Edition can also generate TGP pages for any of the other sites hosted on the same server. |
wwwwwwwwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
cheap ass bastards in the industry these days, that is for sure |
yes I wanted to ask what was the price diff between tgpR and tgpX server edition, because ~$220 (with install) doesn't seem too much to me at all if it will run a bunch of sites.. Some trade scripts cost what, $300-400 per site?
an offtopic btw, Jace, khm, http://www.justjace.com/2007/10/12/a...tall-tutorial/ :bigears |
Autogallery SQL was better than TGPx :/
|
The only thing I've seen that I like more on TGPX is the cropper tool. It will automatically clean up the thumb with some smartblur. lighting, etc..looks nice.
|
I still have an old install of Autogallery, still happy with it.

I know because I have 2 copies of it.. TGPR really was the cheapest under rated script out there. Only thing that sucked about it, was setting up diffrent thumb sizes. He fixed that with TGPX it seems, but it is a lot more pricey compaired to the old, but really no big deal. I just wonder if I can upgrade my TGPR's to the TGPX server version at a reasonable price or do I have to buy a full TGPX version. |
go with comus........much better script IMHO

I don't see any sense in releasing a new script and putting it out at double the cost of the old one, and not offering the old script at the same price it was selling for to those who still are happy with the old script. I looked at TGP rotator before, it did everything I wanted it to. I WANT TGP ROTATOR. Most places I've seen when they release a new product release it at a similiar cost to the old, not double the price, and even then they still tend to offer the old product at a discounted price for those who were happy with it. This is bullshit. Would you not be pissed off if you went to the car lot and found a nice cheap vehicle that ran well, was in good shape, and was well suited for what you needed it for. Then went back a month later to buy it and they raised the price for the EXACT same car to double because they added in some fucking tweety bird floor mats you could give a shit less about? Only a fucking retard buys that car. So all I'm gonna do now is going looking for a different car lot. $100 jmb coulda had that they're not now, and I doubt it's the first... |

if you can afford a script for 100-300$ you shouldnt be running a site

Na doing it on the pages wasn't the issue. The problem was you had to manually reset the thumb size in the script settings anytime you wanted to do thumbs using a different size. TGPZ seems to allow you to make several thumbs 4 each gallery and they can be different sizes, according to the features list. |

TGPX is one of the lower priced TGP scripts out there anyway, and it is a great product.
