i have heard of this happening many times before - I was very worried for my mother that had to have a blood transfusion - we went through so many screenings before i allowed the doctors to give her a transfusion.

It is very sad to hear this happened to these people.

While it definately sucks, and I would not want to be in that position I'll say this.

I would take 10-30 more years on the planet with AIDS (thanks to the drugs extending life) and a transplant versus dying at say 35 without it.
