ATT: Montrealers!
Hey guys/gals!
I'd like to ask the Montreal community here at GFY for a favour. One of my best friends has an oppurtunity of a lifetime...He's been playing music and writing songs for 12 years or so (since he was 9) and finally, after many projects that have all failed (for no reason other than lacking proper marketing) he decided to quit his job - go solo and make it for himself. This past sunday he did a half hour feature on CHOM 97.7 - playing 5 songs and doing an interview. He's currently in talks with Aquarius records, and their ready to table an offer - however they'd like to see him live...this isn't a problem as his stage show is INSANE! I mean IIINNNSSAAANNNEEE! However a big thing when it comes to tabling a deal is crowd size/response. Its really tough being a small-time musician and garnering hundreds of people to fill up a club. Even with the best act in town... Come and have a DIRECT impact on one of your local boys getting the break of his life - and god knows he damn well fucking deserves it. Hes worked his ass off for this, and I just want to do my part and help him as much as I can. FRIDAY NOV. 16th at Club ALIZE at 900 ONTARIO EST, Montreal QC Doors at 7:30PM Come support a local musician, have a fucking GREAT time, enjoy some awesome music - and hopefully meet a couple of other Montrealers here in the industry and perhaps do some business at the same time :) Check out his website at: http://www.stepperrhodes.com to see a little of what you'll be in for on friday night! ALSO: Check out a video I did for him with a big ol' budget of ZERO dollars :) https://youtube.com/watch?v=GeI63y1YqJI (sound didn't convert so go to youtube) See ya there! |
not a bad video for $0... you should be proud in helping a friend in need...

I might be checking them out, always love to go see local bands.

you will seriously NOT be dissapointed.
Many Montrealers have heard of a band called "Confusion in Stereo"...that was his prior project and garnered a lot of respect and a decent amount of popularity here in montreal, this is his solo project lookin forward to meeting some of you! Look for the guy with the GL2 filming the show ;) |

Have plans friday but thats not too far from my place, maybe I'll drop in!
|
Might drop by if I find someone interested to go with me.
|
I would be very happy to come, but have plans already :(
You should send a Facebook event invitation to your friends if you haven't done yet. Usually does the job. I had a good friend who played at Metropolis once and it's definitely not easy to build a crowd. |
Saddly I won't show up, already have a birthday party elsewhere :(
maybe next time :) |
Facebook invite has already been done hehe, but thanks for the tip!
In his former project "Confusion in Stereo" they played spectrum, metropolis, and hundreds of the smaller clubs as well. I went to his jam last night, and lemme tell you...hes put together a STELLAR band. Hes taken the cream of the crop of west-island and greater montreal musicians and slapped em together in a 7-piece band. So along with him he has a simple insane band behind him that has been in the montreal music scene for years. Looking forward to seeing some of you there! :) |
Bump for the Montreal Crew :thumbsup
