Thats a shame. I liked that site. Funny how many people in adult confess to being users of that torrent site, but not others, prolly just because they don't allow porn. So its OK to download torrents just as long as it is not porn, right?

No one serious would use torrents... quality of videos is pretty poor... software - that takes some balls, any software can contain a trojan, often you have to jump through hoops to get it working, often you can't apply updates, unless you need some proffessional 3d modeling software or something that is worth few thousand, it's hardly worth the trouble... the only thing that remotely makes sense is music, but then if you can't afford to buy a $10 cd you are doing something wrong... and if that's not enough, it's kinda unethical to steal other people's work...

The Demon 11-11-2007 11:58 AM

It's also kind of unethical to sell a 12 song cd for $10-$15, where you may get 1-2 good songs. It goes both ways.

munki 11-11-2007 12:02 PM

Prolly why Itunes, and Napster's new business model is doing so well... right?

scottybuzz 11-11-2007 12:09 PM

demon:
dont buy it then.

you cant jusitfy stealing that way.

KILL_FRENZY 11-11-2007 02:01 PM

I think it will be back as soon as possible

TeenCat 11-11-2007 02:11 PM

re woj: "quality of videos is pretty poor..." i havent read more, but this is not true. you can have hidef videos there also, same as not comprimed music albums downloads. you can share everything, and quality depens on what are you downloading from where ... just imho ;)

well, HD movies would be in the neighborhood of 10GB, and based on my experience that would take perhaps a week to download, which would probably burn more electricity to keep the computer on 24/7 for a week than the movie is actually worth... but I'm not really clued in when it comes to torrent stuff, I guess maybe there are some sites out there that let you download HD movies in a reasonable amount of time...

Actually, it's doing PRETTY well because they offer individual songs, even if it is for a dollar, rather than selling whole cds of shitty music. I'd like for any of you to come out and tell me you don't DOWNLOAD anything, but buy everything, aka bullshit.

TheSenator 11-12-2007 05:10 PM

All I have to say is......... aXXo

Peace

avi and divx files can be encoded to 1080p and higher.

Many of your porn bros are doing so in their HD sites.
see mayors money brookeskye.com as an example

a 1 hour episode of heros in HD is only about a gb which from a private tracker can be downloaded in 35 minutes.

Yep, or better yet, how they put 1 to 3 good songs on a CD and then put a bunch of previously released shit on with it.

It will. There is some talk about them moving servers or something on the Wikipedia article for Demonoid.

How about Adobe CS 3 Creativity Suite, which has pretty much EVERYTHING Adobe makes? And I didn't have to monkey around with it at all. Had to read one file and run a keygen type in the little number. 3.2 GB did take me a few days, but it was worth it.

Matt 26z 11-12-2007 07:56 PM

This is a war that copyright holders will not win by simply trying to pull the plug on all torrent sites. That same method for over a decade failed to control the growth of warez sites. They are merely repeating in 2007 what failed in 1997.

I have to say that this really explains everything.

Dude, NOBODY IS FORCING YOU TO BUY A CD. This isn't some fucking socialist paradise where everyone does their job and everyone gets enough to eat, it's BUSINESS. The bands, the record labels, the record stores, the media... they are all in it for MONEY. Big Time Green. Moolah. They don't make music for their health (except that they can afford better doctors). It is a business.

Not agreeing with the pricing doesn't mean you can just steal it.

Your logic is fucked. The price of gas is too high, so I am going to steal your car and drive it until it is empty. No big deal, because $4 a gallon is too high.

How would you feel?

Casa Nova 11-12-2007 10:31 PM

my roomies were complaining about that today lol

d-null 11-12-2007 11:52 PM

the more they shut these torrent sites and rapidshare sites down, the more it will open up legitimate business models for online purchasing of this stuff

I wouldn't mind buying my music online with paypal or credit card if it is easy to get and reasonable... their should be more very obscure stuff available for purchase at a low price, a site that was set up to serve a huge catalog of this kind of stuff in different niches would be great, and I wouldn't mind at all paying a couple or three dollars for some old catalog stuff... the problem now is that it is hard for people to set up and flourish when everything is being stolen and given away

inkognito 11-14-2007 02:07 PM
