I hate beer. I'm more of a liquor guy myself, but Grolsch is one I actually like. It tastes like Heineken on steroids lol

the brown bottles they have in Holland are even better, same with Heinekens. The brown bottles are the ones you want. Damn I miss Holland.

I dont mind it - but I am a Stella guy at heart - The Belgiums may be the most boring people in the world - but they sure can make beer.

I think you can find it in most stores... just not among all the other common beer. :)

The secret is out.
Back in Holland we drink Grolsch ourselves.
When we drink enough we need to pee.
This pee we bottle, label Heineken and ship it off to less fortunate countries.

marketing > beer quality concerns = a beer I prefer to avoid.

Green and clear bottles allow hop oils to be subject to certain wavelengths of radiation (mostly from the sun) that allow the oils to turn or "skunk" (usually to a detectable level after just minute or so's length of time).

Ever wonder why it's "cool" to squeeze a lime in a Corona? The genius that came up with that gimmick deserves every cent he's ever earned.

Green bottles allow the same radiation to pass through them that clear bottles do.

Brown/Opaque bottles are the way to go. :thumbsup

If what you're saying is true...it really makes sense why the Heineken bottles in The Netherlands are brown.

Whoa, I had Grolsch for the first time last night. Funny how it comes up. Ick. I had it with pizza, and I thought it was a Heineken gone wrong. And I hate Heini.

Yeah... I've heard that. I've also heard that Heinie isn't bad beer if you drink it fresh... and I'm sure it's the same way with Grolsch... just don't trust the packaging - so why spend my money on a product where the marketing guys have more of say in the end product than the quality control guys.

Oh, and don't get me wrong - I show up to your place, and you have Natty Light Cans... I'm drinking Natty Light cans that night... beer is beer and is always better than water - even if it tastes similar to water... and Grolsch is way better than Natty Light... which is about as close as you can get to water without actually being water.

The Grolsch 2.5 beers are pretty nice on a hot summer day. I don't really like the normal version.
