Video Gurus - Vegas Question

Client of mine needs something simple to put some nice movies together, groovy sounds, transitions, whatever...

which of the 3 of these should I recommend?

studio | platinum | or pro?

TIA

:pimp

As you can tell "the gurus" don't use Vegas, the are Adobe Premier or Final Cut Pro users.

if you're just an 'assembler' like me the lowest one will work. I use vegas 7.0 so I can handle HD, other wise I would use plain old vegas 5.0

you're pretty much wrong on that one.... premier is consumer software while vegas and final cut are for the pro market, one for each platform

I hear ya Sebastian...this isn't FOR video gurus...the question is...the client is just a basic level marketer needing to put some fairly interesting vids together with a little punch to them (tuneage + transitions...yada)...dasss eeet. Just didn't want to recommend the lowest one if it was worthless.

thanks BM...sounds like the 90 buck deal will do the job for them.

Any decent editing app can do what you suggest that you need. People who say one popular editing app is so much better than the other period, or who say that one editing app is for amateurs really convey no useful information. There are some positive and negatives to each, and one app can rarely do some things the others cannot. It all comes down to your preferred workflow, your platform, and how you want to handle HD and possibly DVD authoring.
