Another Republican heading to jail ... 6 1/2 years!!!
OXFORD, Wis. ? Accompanied by his wife and a longtime friend, former Illinois Gov. George Ryan avoided the media but not the inevitable Wednesday when he walked into prison to start serving a 6 1/2-year corruption sentence.
The 73-year-old Republican dodged a throng of media members at the main entrance to the minimum-security federal prison camp in central Wisconsin, then donned the standard-issue clothing worn by the more than 200 other inmates there ? tan shirt and pants, white socks and steel-toed shoes. Oxford prison spokeswoman Christine Montonna said that Ryan was a high-profile inmate and that prison officials took him in via a back way to protect him and maintain order at the prison. "We felt it was a security step that we had to take," Montonna said. She did not specify what, if any, danger Ryan might have faced. The pharmacist-turned-politician was convicted in April 2006 of steering contracts, tax fraud, misuse of tax dollars and state workers, and killing a bribery investigation. Elected governor in 1998 after serving as secretary of state, he was in office only a few weeks before the federal investigation became public. ... http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/...n/5283590.html Wonder what GOD ( not GOP ) thinks ???? |

Corruption can be found in both major parties.
A few US states are Democratic controlled and very very corrupt. |
A corrupt politician? Surely not!
:1orglaugh |
He actually should be in jail for involuntary manslaughter if you ask me. When he was Secretary of State in Illinois he gave out licenses to truckers for money. These guys had no business driving trucks. Well one day one of these truckers killed an entire family.
