anyone know this place?

Mr.White 11-06-2007 09:13 AM

custom script in this size is 50-100k.
We recently hired 3 programmers for a social network script which will also be near 80k when its done.
But if your looking for something easy to go with check out http://www.agriya.com/youtube-clone-...-myspace-clone
its arround $400 if iam not wrong.

Retributi0n 11-06-2007 09:16 AM

100k for what? 100k for a script? I am pretty sure the guys who started youtube didn't have no 100k script running their site.

You got ripped off....:winkwink:

DateDoc 11-06-2007 10:29 AM

it is not the cost of the script that will burn a hole in your pocket but the bandwidth the site burns....

not really. for 3 inhouse programmers who create you a script how you want it, its pretty normal in europe.

Hey Retributi0n,

post a project on getafreelancer.com or scriptlance.com

Do you just want the flv player or a full site package?

Agriya FLV player/Rayzz (both made by the same company) seem to be pretty common among a lot of the adult youtube clones. There seem to be a fair few complaints among their forums, but it also seems like they fix things fairly quickly and release updates on a regular basis. I've never actually used it though, so I'm not sure.

If you're just looking for an flv player, there's a cheap one (free for noncommercial use, 15 euro for commercial) made by a guy named Jeroen Wijering (I still don't think I can post links yet, so just google that name. It's the first result).

Wow!

I'm amazed at the info in this thread.

Getting a custom script done is must needed when you need to compete with myspace and facebook. We've spent at least 250k on developement of our social networking site in the last 4 years, and we spent it in a smart way. Big corporations down here invested millions in something to compete with us and failed...

pornask 11-06-2007 12:24 PM

hey Dre, what's the URL of your site?

Looks like good software.

I can tell you that if your tube site gets any traffic whatsoever then you will be paying for their premium plan at $549 a month.
It will only take a few hundred visitors a day to max this plan.

200 visitors * 30 days = 6000 hits divided into 250,000 views = 42 views each visitor.

Showing 1 minute clips? Then 42 minutes on the site can get this per visitor.

Realistically, I'd say anyone getting 600 hits a day is going to pay $549 a month.

sysk 11-06-2007 12:46 PM

Let me know if you want a custom script. :)

remii 11-06-2007 01:41 PM

How many hours did they spend planning and coding it x $50/hour?
They did NOT have a $500 script powering their site.

dougeetx 11-06-2007 10:41 PM

I used the clipshare script on my site at http://www.videoslacker.com but it's buggy. I'd go with the agriya script. The owner is awesome!

Clip-share sucks balls. They don't issue refunds either, they will argue with you until they are blue in the face.

SomeCreep 11-07-2007 12:08 AM

About 100 dollars.

Supaflyz 11-07-2007 06:27 AM

Agriya are shit, they create new features but don't fix bugs. Apparently they also do 'custom programming'...over 3 months later they still haven't started on a project which was supposed to take 3 days...with $75 50% up front fee stuck in Escrow.
