I'm movin to Jamaica any suggestions?
 

I'm leavin to Jamaica in January with a friend...what's the best place to live there? Any advice would be great! All I know is the ghetto is dangerous at night lol

I lived 10 years in South Africa, I would recommend a bulletproof vest if you're going there too

Jamaica is nice to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there. Kind of why i ended up moving to Puerto Rico instead.

I have been to Negril Many many many times and I have considered moving there to live for a year or two

I would check out Negril! its the very west end. Its a safe town and very nice place lots of tourists make there way to Negril.

Do not live in Montego Bay.

Negril is the best choice.

Well I don't see why you would move there, it's a completely different culture my family is Jamaican and I would never live there, The country is good like I have family in St Thomas, and Moriant Bay, most people think they will move into Kingston when there has the most crime and violence but it depends on which number in Kingston your living in there is like Kingston 1 to like Kingston 15. the numbers have names to their cities for some of them.

The best advice is to go and spend some real time down there to really check it out before moving. You should really do that anywhere you're thinking of moving to before you go.

Make sure you go outside the ports and really explore the place with a local, might change your mind about living there. :2 cents:

It is so dangerous I wouldn't even go there to visit.

it depends on the job, my family down there they created their own jobs most of them being taxi drivers, hair salons, farmers, selling pigs, and or running a bar. one cousin is a banker at scotiabank, but yet still they are calling us family in Canada, USA and England every week for money to send to them.
