BoyAlley 11-03-2007 11:38 AM

Hello breeder hello.

First off $1,000 is really not very much to launch a new site with, but if that's your budget, it's best to make it work as hard for you as you can.

I'd say go with press releases and a giveaway.

Since you can't afford banner spots on boards, which means you can't run contests on them, your best bet is to run contests promoted on the industry news sites.

Give away a few Video Ipods raffle style (you should be able to afford about 3 of them), write up a press release announcing the new site and mentioning your giveaway in it, submit it to Xbiz, AVN, Ynot etc. and then post it in all of the "spam" sections of the various industry boards (there's a ton of them).

Then announce all of the winners on the boards a month later, so you get 2 bangs for your buck.

BoyAlley 11-03-2007 11:42 AM

PS: Make sure the style in which you do the raffle drawing is unique, it'll help.

Here's an example of a raffle I held several months ago. I got a TON of PR from it, it was basically viral, and it hardly cost me just a few hundred bucks for 1 video ipod:

Be creative!

DaddyHalbucks 11-03-2007 11:44 AM

That would buy alot of traffic from Traffic Holder.

:2 cents:

BoyAlley 11-03-2007 11:49 AM

Erm, I assumed he meant marketing to affiliates not to consumers.

If he meant to consumers then ignore what I just suggested obviously.

Damn breeders need to be more clear bout what you want. :disgust

$1000 is a way too low to talk about serious marketing... invest in traffic and you should get the best ROI for your money.

Some of the most effective marketing campaigns cost considerably less. :2 cents:

CarlosTheGaucho 11-03-2007 12:20 PM

I would give 500 bucks to someone with experience to spend the rest..

Hey Boy Alley!! Thanks for the useful info. This is a question I have had for a bit. Need promo but do not have tons of casholio to plug my program. It was great to read a real response to a tough question.

Jen

amateurcanada 11-04-2007 08:52 AM

Props on the press releases, people still are in the dark about how valuable they are.

Apart from that i'd download a tgp submitter like chameleon, for 30 bux (assuming you have the content) a month you can generate a rather large portion of uniques within 30 days. :)

i ran a ipod giveaway contest once, it does nothing for gwtting new affiliates, and the ones you have don't even care, biggest waste of time I ever spent

A 1000 bucks can get you on your way. You can buy a few ads, a few tgp spots, some traffic.

There's quite a few sites that started off with just a few affiliate.

You really don't have to whip out 25k on skins to get a succesfull marketing going.
You don't have to start making 30k a month right away.

Invest the 1k, re-invest a bit more the next month.

All depends on how you spin it. Like I said, with $1,000 you have to rely on creativity to make your dollar work for you.

Just "giving way an ipod" without anything behind it will do nothing, as you've seen first hand.

I can assure you that my video that I posted above did VERY well at the time for me.

Marketing is about getting your message out in a creative way, not about how much money you spend. The less creative you are, the more you have to spend to achieve the same results :2 cents:

so true man, I agree...a viral video can go a LONG fucking way....back when I did mine there was no "viral videos", no youtube, etc...

honestly, if I only had $1000 for a marketing for affiliates, I would put an ad up that said $50 per month for your sig (across multiple boards), and make sure the sig sellers are all broke losers that sit and post on gfy all day.....so you get your moneies worth

UncutBucksMike 11-04-2007 02:16 PM

This is turning into a great thread. I seriously am in need for some promo for my program and have tried to think of something catchy for quite sometime. I agree with you BA that you have to be creative. Sigs are something I have thought about. I was thinking about Xmas coming. Gift cards, ipods, etc but trying to think of some kind of way of "marketing it" and getting some exposure to new affilates with it. Trust me us small fries think long and hard daily about what we can do to gain some exposure. It is tough to think of things that will help without a ton of cash. Mike and I have discussed many of times about giving away 100% for some period of time just to get me out there and show webmasters I can convert and retain. But, he doesnt believe it would work as it's tough to get webmasters to even know you exist and break though this barrier that exists. Many would say its a scam and oh you cant give that much away, etc. But, if it isnt direct cash out of the pocket, it does gain exposure when other webmasters promote the site. I guess I am rambling now, lol. But, love a biz thread occassionally, hehehehe.

Hugs,
Jen

Ok, I just looked at your program and your paysite. Let me give you some advice, since you're asking for it.

PLEASE know I'm not trying to be mean, I'm trying to be constructive, to help you succeed.

1. Spend the money on a new affiliate and paysite design. Every last penny of it.

The sites look amateur, and not in an "ooh amateur sells really well!" sort of way, but in a "no way in hell i'm sending my traffic to these people" way.

Spend the $1,000 on a designer. There are several good ones out there that aren't too expensive. Granted for $1,000 on 2 sites you're not going to get some fancy flash extravaganza, but you can end up with something that looks "amateur but professional", which is what you should be going for.

2. After that's done, and you have a product someone might be willing to promote, here's how to get their attention:

A. Do fansigns! Breeders love them! You'll get 2 good sized threads out of these. One where you announce them, and one where you deliver them. You WILL pick up affiliates this way.

That's free.

B. Come up with a funny/interesting video series, as those always do well, but add a sexy kick to it:

"Jen's Advice On Fingering A Whore (VIDEO INSIDE)". That thread would get the views. Make a good 3 minute video, mention your program in it a bunch of times, maybe pick on a few well known webmasters in it, have it watermarked with your program url.

That's free.

C. Then it's just a matter of thinking of different ways to deliver your message.

Keep the hype going. One of the biggest mistakes I see programs make on here is they run 1 promo and then get bitchy that they aren't seeing 200 new affiliates a week later. Marketing is about pounding your message into people's heads over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over.

Repetition is the secret to SUCCESSFUL marketing. When you get tired of doing it, and when people start bitching about seeing your ass too much, is when you know you're on the right track. KEEP GOING!

No offense Boys Alley because you're trying to be helpful but I was a artist and designer before I started an adult website and my site design scored much higher then yours at The Best Porn in fact it was complemented at TBP, Porn Adept, and Adult Reviews. In fact 3 of the reviewers even critisized your site design and Spencer gave me an almost perfect score for design. So I'm just not sure what the hell you're talking about or why you have so much advice with a worse Alexa ranking then me.

Dude seriously are your retarded? Your sites don't look professional why are you passing that on to mine when so many people have said they look nice? The only thing used on your sites is the default PS blending options.

For starters, get off your fucking high horse as you have no idea what all I run or where I'm dedicating my energies. On the other side, I have no idea who the fuck you are or what sites you run, so I certainly couldn't offer advice about them.

Then, re-read my post and notice that I was talking specifically to UncutBucksMike, and his single model site, not to you.

Reading comprehension much?

BoyAlley 11-04-2007 04:26 PM

I swear hooked on phonics should be a top banner sponsor of GFY, they'd make a fucking fortune.

MCRiv 11-04-2007 04:35 PM

Oh sorry no offense wasn't sure what you were talking about with the 2 sites either.

First off I am sorry for side tracking MCRiv's thread. Boy Alley- When you checked out my program, can I ask what it was that you really disliked? I thought I had a decent number of galleries, content zips and other tools for webmasters to use. As far as my actual site, did you look at Tour 1 or Tour 2? Tour 1 is in place as I have webmasters who like to use a very amateur tour. Tour 2 is a bit flashier. Regardless, thank you much for taking the time to look at the sites and offer up suggestions.

Hugs,
Jen

its not like he actually owns the paysite he whores in his sig

MCRiv 11-04-2007 05:06 PM

Hey Jen I'm a designer I read your wanting imput in my opinion the main appeal of your site is it looks like you designed it yourself and are running it yourself which is kind of appealing to guys I think. You could go with a higher end design I could probably even tell you how to do it yourself but I'm not sure if that would help or not I mean right now the site looks amateur the photos could actually be doctored to look artistic and professional and you can gloss up the page with graphics but then it's going to look more like a company did your site and you're a pornstar. You could try sharpening some of the images like the video cameras so they don't look blurry and tighten up the glow effects. Assparade and Bangbus makes tons of cash and their design looks very amateur. Maybe you could play around with the page colors and background colors.

You know what will probably help more then anything get it on with a couple of girls and throw it on the tour.

UncutBucksMike 11-04-2007 05:28 PM

MC you have me LMAO. I surely know that one. I def need some g/g content. The opportunity has never been there or i would def jump all over it, hehehe. Someday i am sure. Thanks so much for all of the ideas for the tour. Yes, we designed the site together (Mike and I).I am going to have my hubby tweak a few things now that it has come up. I really do not want a glammy tour as I like to keep the amateur feel and it does convert with the traffic I have and my members like the "real Me" of the site. And, obviously I am not to glammy, hehehe. But, I have made Mike bust his ass on the program as I thought that was going in the direction I had hoped for. Hell there are tons of CCBill amateur sites out there that do not even come close to offering the promo I do. I am rambling again. But a HUGE thanks for all the input and making me laugh and now making me horny with the g/g thoughts LMAO.

Hugs,
Jen
